Both of them had some decent boxing skill.

Shavers put up respectable performances vs Holmes and Ali whereas Peter did well vs Toney.

    It is a 50/50 fight.

Who would you say had more heart of the two?

I don't see the ****ogy but Peter certainly stops the version of Tyson who lost to Danny Williams, if that's what you're asking.

Eddie Chambers said he was the hardest puncher he faced while posting on this forum.

It wouldn't last more than 6 rounds. I'd go with the more durable Peter.

I honestly don't know. Intangibles are hard to discern. Especially when you have two guys who fought under entirely different circumstances.

One thing is for sure, some people don't know much about Sam Peter. Some say he punched very hard, some say not hard at all. Some say he was very durable, others say his chin was not very good. Everyone agrees that Shavers punched very hard but did not have the best chin. Another truth is that Peter was much heavier and a little taller but Shavers had a slightly longer reach.

I believe that Peter punched hard and was durable. His prime was short but at his best he was strong, had good stamina, punched hard, and was durable. I'm not saying je'd win but Shavers needs to be at his best or he will get KTFO.

You can't discount a fighters ability to give and take.

Agreed.. The Sam Peter who fought Wladimir Klitschko for the first time would have been a tough proposition for Shavers.

Im pretty comfortable favoring Peter here.

It's not a good matchup for Shavers when the other guy can take a shot and hits hard enough to stop him. I also think guys like Brewster and Mercer are bad matchups with him for the same reason. Earnie was the archetype of the glass cannon.

Eddie Chambers said Povetkin was the hardest puncher he faced.

And Chambers was a career high fattest against Peters and he still won.

Brewster and Mercer were superior to Peters by about 10 levels.

Chris Arroela had better skills and a better gas tank than Peter. Does Arroela beat Shavers too :nut

Peter was a club fighter and the only guys he beat were club fighters.

Apart from Oleg and it took Peter 6 rounds to stop him . Naggy Aguliera stopped Oleg in the first round just 12 months later.

Are comparing Holmes and Ali with a HW tonney?. Peter struggling with a former middle weight .Peter would be totally outclassed by those two .

He definitely praised Peter. I don't have time to look it up right now.
