Terrell was a good fighter. A tall, lanky fighter with a real good jab and durability. The only man that was able to stop him (apart from his last fight) was Big Cat Williams, a dynamite puncher who had great power. Terrell later avenged the fight by a split decision win.

Terrell beat Machen for the WBA title, then defended his title against two good fighters in granite chinned George Chuvalo and near Clay conqueror Doug Jones. He also had wins over Amos "Big Train" Lincoln and skilled boxer Zora Folley. Arguably his best win was a KO of ATG Lightheavyweight Bob Foster, who he knocked out with a big right hand.

Sadly he's remembered for his loss to Ali, in which Ali thumbed him in the eye in the 2nd round which led to him seeing two Alis in the ring. Ali's dominant performance was more a demonstration of his greatness, not Terrell shortcomings.

If you watch the video, Terrell was not trying to be hateful or spiteful when he did it.
