I like to think I'm not overly biased about which fighters I follow and what shows I watch, but I just can't watch fighters from these two regions any more. Anything from Germany going further east just bores the **** out of me. Has anyone sat through some of those dire, uneventful, boring cards us British fans get on Eurosport? I love boxing but that is, to me, unwatchable.

I'm sick of their journeymen being brought over to Britain to lose, too. How many fat Hungarians do we have to see destroyed? Or Polish builders with no talent? It's terrible.

There's a lot of good fighters from this region but I just don't want to watch them. Thoroughly boring style. I love central American fighters, north America produces a lot of good stuff, I think northern Europe, especially Britain, produces good, entertaining fighters, south America can be great fun especially Brazil, Australia has some very entertaining fighters, Japan produces lots of fun cards - It's just anything further east than where the Berlin Wall used to be. I have no patience for those fighters.

There isn't an ounce of charisma between them, either. For a fight to captivate an audience, it has to grab their attention before the bells rings. I don't want to see some pasty Russian with a bad haircut just say "I think I will win" and then some Lada-driving Polish journeyman say "I can win this fight". They have no idea how to sell an event.

They are a stain on boxing for me right now, honestly. I can't bear to watch the card littered with such boring fighters on them. The crowd are no better either.

(I know Germany isn't in eastern Europe now, but they're as boring too and were part of the Eastern Bloc, so I'm including them)

I dunno! I love the Eastern Bloc fighters like Adamek, The Klits, Golota back in the day. I think eastern bloc fighters are disciplined and they are superb boxers compared to the rest of Europe! I've always felt that way!

Eh, I find most "slick" black fighters to be boring as hell, I'm talking about the Adrian Broner and Devon Alexander types. I like a lot of Eastern European fighters especially at the highest level because of how skillful their technique usually is and they're smart in the ring. You're complaining about journeymen which seems a bit ridiculous and of course you have a bit of a tone of bigotry too you too which is both funny and not shocking. If you find the 'stereotypical' Eastern Bloc fighter to be boring, that's fine, everyone has different tastes. There are tons of entertaining Eastern Bloc fighters too, just as there are loads of boring as **** fighters from your favorite places.

Definitely, they're usually excellent boxers and there are plenty of exciting fighters. Adamek has been in some awesome wars, Pawel Wolak is a ton of fun to watch too, so was Golota. That's just Poles though, but there are plenty of other fun fighters from the region. Lebedev immediately comes to mind, I love watching him fight.

Sound's like your a fan of the theatracal part of boxing and not of boxing itself.
Maybe you should try pro wrestling?
Because you are clearly not a true boxing fan....

 it could be just the opinion of a casual boxing fan, where you need personalities to enjoy it over actual boxing.

I guess you've never heard of Lomachenko, Adamek, Golovkin, Shumenov, Pirog, Syllakh, Provodnikov, Lebedev, Huck, Wolak, Zaveck, Vitali, etc. of today's crop, or Tszyu, Michalczewski, Papp etc. of yesterday's, because if you did, we wouldn't have this conversation.

No shame in asking to throw you some exciting names, just say you don't know any and we'll help! :thumbsup Also, stop watching Eurosport boxing.

I think you've watched Rocky IV too many times... If you like to watch fighters 'slug it out' for 12 rounds and get brain damage, for your own pleasure, then you are a sick sadist....

Your reaching with Adrian Broner and Devon Alexander. Black fighters have been extremely entertaining throughout history.

I agree, and there are plenty of black fighters I love. A good or fun fighter is a good/fun fighter regardless of where they're from, I"m just saying I don't like the Alexander/Broner types which, at least here at ESB, gets labelled as the "slick/black" style.

Jack, just for arguements sake do you consider Carl Froch as an Eastern Bloc fighter because of his ancestry?

you are brit or in other words you are an idiot.Calzaghe ,hatton, haye or fury are they exciting to watch? No, unless you are britard.Russians with bad haircuts are still better than ugly, toothless british gingerheads, that speak with that gayish british accent .You mention australian boxers and I think best autralian boxer ever is russian. Also as much as I know Lada is a Russian maker ,not Polish. Why all around the world people love other globally popular sports like basketball ,hockey , wrestling, mma and how are brits doing in these sports?. When was the last time brits won anything significant in soccer? was it like 40 or 50 years ago?
