Great idea! I think you also need to be very explicit vis-a-vis admission standards.

Namely, do you account for the below:

1) Career Resume (obviously)

2) Impact (this could mean impact outside the ring, or someone who revolutionized something)

3) Popularity (this is the Gatti argument)

4) Character (i would assume not, or else a lot of greats will be excluded)


I would start with a rapid-fire system to create a foundation of guys, then maybe vote on up to five candidates once per year. Make it very formal.

But maybe your idea for five a month is a good start.

I'd definitely start in the Classic forum with this process. Crosstrainer obviously would be a fine addition, and there are others (although some of the knowledgeable posters are crazy) hanging around as well.

 

I say potential candidates for the first wave of ESB HOF...

Radar, Lance Uppercut, Cross Trainer, Zivic, Widdow Makker, Achilles, Kirk, Orishaman, Amsterdam, & Freddy that would be my initial class of ESB HOF's...

To be honest I reckon you have to be more public with it, if not then it's basically just seven guys making their own HOF. For it to be an ESB HOF it has to be picked by all of the members. TBH most people have a good knowledge on this site, so I'm sure it would work well.

 

But you have to admit it is a good list of inductees
