if the TV channel instead of BET (Black Entertainment Network) was called KEN (Kazah Entertainment Network) and was directed towards Kazahs or people with Kazah heritage, then he'd make 1 million easily

Fact is Ray, that if GGG fought on free cable, he'd do twice what he does on SUBSCRIPTION CABLE..

I would put Smith on the same level as Fujigama, C+ type journeyman.

Whereas Monroe is clearly a B level, having lost to GGG and the prospect slayer.

Monroe vs GGG on bet would easily do 1 million.

Especially since there would be $$$ left to promote it considering the combined purses would be less than $2 mil.

Monroe, however, had quite a bit of hype behind him after his domination of the MW prospect tournament and his dominant win over Vera.

Well to be fair, BET is part of a basic cable package, whereas HBO requires an additional monthly subscription.

There's fewer people in the states that have HBO compared to BET. SO this will skew the numbers as far as viewership goes.

personally, I just want to see these 2 guys fight sooner than later. They're clearly the 2 best fighters of their division, hopefully they fight each other within the next year.

But what about on BET network? How many tv ratings would he do?? Stop talking another other network especially stop talking about his home country and that country tv smh. IDC He's not american i mean if he does very well on hbo with tv ratings, then my question about if he can the same type of tv ratings on BET network is a very fair one poibnt blank period.

why would he fight on BET, a TV channel that hasn't shown boxing since the 80' if I'm not mistaken? and you answered your own thread question in the opening post, no he wouldn't, because BET is a 2nd or even 3rd tier TV channel in the US

it's Ward's own fault he was reduced to fighting on BET because neither HBO or Showtime caved in to his ridiculous demands, hence why only 300K households saw his "comeback" vs the formidable Paul Smith

But Ward SHOULD do good numbers if you guys claim he's a good draw.

Already stated: he's American, he's half black, his promoter is VERY famous in US and among black community. Ward had a long lay off so surely people were eager to see him BACK? BET is a mainstream 'free' channel for Christ's sake.

He had all the attributes to do decent and he TANKED. BET is not to blame.

yes, he has himself to blame for being reduced to fighting on a network that hasn't shown boxing since the 80's because of his unrealistic demands about money and opponents and only getting 300K views as a result

The OP would've laughed if I'd told him that the Kazakh Alfred E Newman lookalike would waltz in to Cali and sell thousands more tickets than Ward, the P4P fighter and last American gold medalist.

Yet, here we are. Andre isn't even the bigger drawn in his home state.
