The most **** I heard was the sheer amount of British 'experts' backing up Hatton to beat Mayweather, so much so, that I went and put on money on Hatton. Then again, the Hatton-Pacquaio fight, many of the same 'experts' were predicting a Hatton victory, with the noteable exception of Colin Hart. Although, that doesnt excuse the jokey headpiece on Hart's nut

I picked Tarver to TKO Dawson in both fights. So **** you all. My failure proves my humility.

Colin Hart probably picked Pacquiao to beat Hatton because he studied their respective recent performances, rather than resorting to blatant nuthuggery of the boy in the Sky studio.

I got it wrong as well, underestimating Pacquiao's win over DLH..... though I wasn't one who said Hatton's win over Paulie was great, it was what it was, and as I predicted!

I remember getting into a big debate with my mates before the Haye v Maccarinelli fight and they didn't rate Haye at all, when I said that the only way Enzo would win was if Haye was an absolute dead man at the weight (like Oscar v Pac) and they looked at me as if I had 2 heads.

i can remember boxing experts in the UK and USA saying gerald mcclellan was only a 3 round fighter after the benn fight and they all knew.
before the fight they'd all predicted that benn would get hammered

I thought Enzo had a chance after looking very impressive against Wayne Braithwaite.

Maybe if he'd fought more guys like that instead of Frank Warren-selected cans, he'd have developed to a higher level.

Mostly I just wanted Haye to get on with his heavyweight career after the Mormeck win.

You said it, those boys in the Sky Studio were like puppets - saying the right things, trying to put on a positive spin. That bill from Sunderland prior to the Hatton-Pacquaio fight was the worst bill I have ever seen, a complete farce. But everytime they went back to the studio for commentary, they were trying to scratch the bottom of the barrel for an old tired cliche to try and say something nice about it. No one said a word about that bum that Tony Jeffries fought, he had like 12 fights and 9 losses, and he put on a performance that matched his record. But in the studio, it was like, what a great win for Jeffries etc etc....

I learnt this the hard way in horse racing - make your own mind up dont subsitute it for a "experts" prediction

about 3 years ago I sussed this race out and selected a 33/1 shot I was confident could win

I dont always pick big prices like that - but I just felt it was a race he was capable of winning

however just before I was about to put a nice few quid on it

the "expert" came on the speaker and he managed to convince me that his selection the 7/2 favorite should win the race easy

I was a total mug that day

I subsitituted my opinon for his opinon

and changed my mind and lumped on the 7/2 favorite

needless to say the 33/1 shot stormed home and won

    :twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted:

    never again

if I get it wrong - I get it wrong

but I win or lose by my own choices not the "experts" choices

    Its bollocks anyway

there was nothing wrong with McCllellans stamnia

he had a huge 1st round

but the reason why Benn beat him is he quickly sussed out how to beat his style

Benn had a really big 2nd round and won it easy

3rd, 4th, 5th - it was all Benn landing too

Gerlad McCllellan had zero defence - I dont think he thought he needed one

Benn came out of his crouch - ducking and weaving - and unloading - and was nailing McCllellan every time.

Too right. That is what I will be doing from now on.

With the Hatton fight, I was also swayed by the ole heartstrings too, I wanted Hatton to win, but wasnt convinced - listening to the 'experts' was convenient in that case. Moreover, it added an extra buzz to staying up until 4am (pub lock-in) to watch it all.

i thought haye was gonna win i'll put that straight out.

but enzo had stopped hobson with the 1st hard punch of the fight, and corrupeted braithwaite.
while haye struggled with fragomeni and got kn ocked down by mormeck

it wasnt THAT big a just fight. my thoughts were that haye was too fast and snappy where as enzo is based on setting his man up by waiting for him to walk in on a left hook. awful figh plan when his only advantage was that haye had been knocked down before and he could punch.

Enzo's best performance is/was against 'Big Truck' Braithwaite, a good controlled display.

I thought he'd taken a step up after that fight.

I had picked Haye to win but wasn't 100% confident as I thought he was dead at the weight. In my worse moments I only had it 60-40 Haye, I was so concerned.

Once I saw the weight in, I knew Big Mac was getting welded. :D
