There is no easy to way beat Floyd. The only way it is happening is if an elite fighter puts on the performance of his life. Kinda like Frazier did vs Ali (which ended Frazier as a top fighter). The guy that beats Mayweather will be special. I would guess the pressure fighter blueprint would be the way but it will have to be relentless, throwing a hundred punches a round, taking sharp counters and basically not letting Floyd think at all by peppering with all sorts of different shots. Either that or outfloyding Floyd. Hard to do. Nothing is easy about fighting Mayweather. He owns your soul.
The true way to beat Mayweather is to wait until he get old and slow call him out of retirement then get your win..........I'm a boxing genius
Chavez Sr and any style like that would beat PBF. Pressure fighter with great skill and technical ability.
Also a good recipe for gassing out and getting stopped. As you pointed out, the stinging right hand counters will be practiced and deadly accurate. Mayweather's shell is obviously extremely difficult to get through, but he employs a lot of different tactics utilizing his elbows and forearms defensively that effectively stop an offensive attack in it's tracks or redirect punches off target and begin to drain the tank of an opponent as they become increasingly frustrated and the fight carries on. His ring IQ, body positioning, reflexes and conditioning are pretty much uncanny as well.
Who was Bernard selecting? There wasn't that many good fighters during his reign as middleweight champ(he fought roy in his prime and accepted the defeat) and than started to challenge himself after the 2 Taylor losses. I don't see how you can lump him in that.
Regardless if you agree with the decision, either way, Castillo didn't have an EASY night which is the topic of the thread.
