Ward got beat in his own game early on. He got outpunched and wrestled to the ropes when he tried to implant his inside game on Kovalev. He did adapt to the fight later on but to me it was too late. I can't see how he could've won. He maybe got 5 rounds. Maybe.
So you give him five rounds. Give another couple of rounds that were tough to call in Andre's favour - and there were a few of those - and you would score a Ward win. Scoring is subjective as your post proves. The result was not a robbery, Ward won. Had it been scored the other way, I would have said the same - it was a close fight. Please don't let disappointment at the decision cloud your judgement.
Just watched the Sky coverage and every single pundit had Ward winning the fight by 1-3 rounds.. once again the brits prove they do KSAB!
Anyone who calls this a robbery is just bitter. Every round before round 6 except round 2 was extremely close and tough to score. I'm a fan of both fighters and was equally prepared for a close desicion either way
