Alright lads I'm new to boxing, just wanted to know what sort of eating plan's you guys followed and get some feedback on mine. Mine is usually something like this: 06:00 4 mile run 06:30-07:00 3 x weetabix with skimmed milk & teaspoon of sugar. Thinking of going to 2 weetabix with a banana & raisins instead of sugar. 09:30-10:00 Small tin of tuna/ salmon/ sardines 12:00 Chicken/ sliced pastrami with peppers, sweetcorn, cucumbers in pitta bread. satsuma 14:00-14:30 Banana 16:30-17:00 Beef stir fry/ cod fillets with mash sweet potato/ beans on toast (when i'm lazy lol)/ chicken & brown rice/ spaghetti bolognese 19:30 TRAIN 20:30 Apple and/or banana I also drink about 2-4 litres of water. Feedback on mine and/or put up yours please.
Sounds good. Three bananas a day though seems excessive. While its good to have fruit and they're high in potassium they're also high in natural sugars, about 25 grams a banana. I do one a day. Try to replace that teaspoon of sugar in your wheatbix and maybe substitute with berries or fruit like you suggested. Average day for me. Yesterdays actually. Critique away people! 7:00ish three eggs, all whites one yolk, two pieces of whole wheat toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter spread on both. Multivitamin, GNC Sport for men. Lifted at gym, back and biceps. (I always either lift one of three groups; back biceps, chest triceps, legs, core every day, or run. About 3 miles of interval running) 9:00 Made a protein smoothie when I got home. Half a banana (ate other half) bout 6 strawberries, half a no fat light blueberry yogurt, skim milk, and a scoop of banana cream protein mix School work... 12:00ish About a handful of turkey, all breast meat, no skin, no sauce. Handful of saltless peanuts. School work... 4:00ish two chicken breast, no skin, about a tablespoon of barbeque sauce 4:30ish was still hungry so had an orange (They were on sale ) 6-8:30 Fight practice 9:00 Isopure protein shake, mixed in water. I also drink about a gallon of water through out the day 10:00-10:30 beauty sleep
Thanks guys, Rock49 Yeah I thought that with the banana, might try a sports recovery drink from GNC for after boxing.
Looks good, you've got the carbs 2 1/2 to 3 hours before the workout and fish in your diet. All you need is a recovery for after the workout which you've already mentioned, I use something called Vega and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It has 26 grams of protien plus %100 or more of all of your vitamins, I noticed loss of fat and more stamina, about 10-15 percent more calories burnt on the eliptical or treadmill. Often along with the carbs I'll have some fruit about an hour before the workout and it really seems to improve energy, no fatigue. See if it works for you.
How much is 25 grams of sugars exactly. It's a measly 75 calories. You should measure these things when you add sugar to tea for example, empty sugars. A banana is a whole natural food that supplies a lot of fibers, vitamins and minerals (more than just potassium). It's worth every calorie it provides. How about banana You know what I'm going to say don't you :hey :twisted: :deal I think your diet is low on everything but protein. Your breakfast is okay-ish but why waste the yolks, your not getting that much vitamins and minerals anyway. Your fat intake is very low except for a few peanuts, which will probably mean many vitamins are wasted because you can't absorb them. Most of your protein will be used for energy because your carb intake is insanely low as well. The nutrients in your diet come from a multivitamin, a banana and six strawberries, that's about it. Not enough fats, not enough carbs, and most important very little nutritional value. Where are the vegetables? Why no yolks? Why the skim milk?
