Thank you for keeping the forum abreast of Ebanie Bridges career progression and I cannot help burst out
Poor Ebanie beat 99-91 on 2 cards. This women sums up what is all wrong with female boxing totally devaluing World Title Belts by winning in a Goldfish Bowl that held another 3-4 blind fish.
YouTube recommended Bridges talking after the fight this morning; "not making excuses" but started off by making the excuse that the opponent didn't allow her to do the things she'd been practising in training! I get that it was short notice but nothing shows a limited boxer more than having to train for specific styles and getting shut out when they don't show up. This is more a comment on Bridges than women's boxing more generally but all the same, she was a world champion a few hours ago.
Serves him right for frothing at the mouth over a porn star. Can you imagine the perverse thoughts that go through that little slimey weasel's head when he's alone with her.
If you had a lad start the gym and they were still this bad after about 6 months of training it would be clear that boxing isn't for them. But for women this is a World title fight This content is protected
As I said in another thread before some weirdo started defending it desperately. It’s complete garbage.
I just don't understand these people who try and tell us it's good when it's clearly not and that's an objective fact. It's not even white collar standard when you compare them to men. Even the so called high level stuff like Katie Taylor and Clarissa Shields is low skill, pitter patter windmilling rubbish. It wouldn't be so bad if it was on it's own shows or at least low down on the cards, but this garbage was high up on a PPV. I know this point gets made to death but it needs repeating because the fans really are being ripped off.
Mate..it's quite clear. you've never joined a boxing club. If u think someone after 6 month of boxing can put in a better performance than even EB showed in your clip We all know female boxing isn't the same lvl as men's boxing doesn't mean they can't compete. I understand the gripes about some of the lower lvl females been high on the card & I agree with that, but same goes for the men. There's a lot of competition that wants to either eradicate our sport for good or want to take our positions relative with the t.v company's and now streaming apps etc. Including female boxing is a way to strengthen our position imo. Boxing, same as everything..it evolves or de- evolves. For example..small hall promoters used to use different formats to the ones we have today...then it was them that sold the shows, now its their fighters that have to sell tickets, it's how it went. That has kept small halls alive, they'd of been done by now. Why? Cos there is now too many options and competition which are consuming the resources. Female boxing makes our sport stronger and less likely to die out imo. We all have our own interpretations, understangings and quality & depth of information relatuve to boxing. Try looking at the bigger picture.
Yes, Marshall had real power but fought crap v Claressa, still the hardest hitting female boxer though.
She looked completely out of shape, too busy gong to parties and posting it on insta, too busy with her only fans.
One of the hardmen from my area, he's a PT in his mid-30s and hit the bag since he was a kid. He joined a boxing gym and had his first white collar fight recently shortly after joining. He showed a much better standard than Ebanie Bridges.
Without seeing the video of your mate, it's hard for me to comment. Also been a local hardman for a number of yrs and smashing boxing bags with gloves on gives u a head start over a 6 month novice ffs I'm not suggesting that womans boxing is on the lvl of men's boxing BTW but I do think there is a place for it. it's a very narrow minded view to just say, it's crap and not worth watching. There's a lot more going on than that. Did u watch Beatriz farriera on dazn show other day, she's decent. I'll watch mayer vs Jonas. Taylor vs Cameron or any serrano fights. The 2 min rds are going to lessen the chances of k.os but like I've said before, I've accepted female boxing for what it is. I agree that some of the female fights shouldn't be on the main card but that also apply to the male bouts, some if them shouldn't be main card. Maybe female cards only would work.
