Ebo Elder vs Courtney Burton . . . truly the GREATEST fight of all time

    Why do any of the fights listed deserve any more credit then elder vs burton???

    I take nothing away from any great fight. . . my point is that this fight between two realatively unknown people at the very ends of their career produced a fight that was either just as spectacular in both action and drama . . .or. . it surpassed them in terms of what makes a great fight great

    The only thing that seperates this fight from the typical list you get is the names. . .

    Dont matter if they were B or C level fighters. . what they did in the ring THAT night was IMO the single most spectacular fight i have ever witnessed and I simply will not let the popular opinion over shadow that.

    I dont know why my loyalty or biased has to be toward all the household names in boxing?

    So if thats disrespectful. . then oh well. . . **** em all

    In all honesty I'm not sure the fight will be aired at the clubs but I do know the cotto vs pretty boy had some air time at a couple spots. If I can get my permission slip signed I might just hunt for a place to mourn off the would be ppv money and then some.

    I can identify one distinct difference between what Ebo and Courtney sacrificed for us when compared to say morales vs mab, ward vs gatti or corrales vs Castillo and that was the lack of self pride and machismo being displayed. That's what made it so surreal so eire....these two fighters where almost poetic in there efforts it was as if they where just on the job and this was the routine and no one is going to stop me from completing my day at work so I can punch out and eat dinner with my family. Both guys where completely ****ing ruined after that fight, their was no pride left to fight they left their pride at the locker room and just pummeled each other because it was their job and it was all they knew.

    Not the best ever....but damn close. It ranks up there with the best ACTION packed fights ever but from a "ALL AROUND THE BOARD" stand point it really ddin't have a lot of meaning. It was two very solid fighters going at it....exhibiting solid boxing skills. But the ebb and flow was simply amazing...back and forth action...blood, sweat and literally...tears.

    Thanks for reminding me of this closet classic.
