Ed Robinson - Sky Sports Dull Boxing Interviewer

I think the guy is ok, he's probably got a director talking away on his headphones, telling him to say this and that, can't be an easy job

 

You've hit the nail on the head, if he did not stop interrupting them and whipping the mike away all we would hear is how god was responsible for the win and this fight is dedicated to my mate who has an ingrowing toenail and can I just thank fred from the butchers for all my steak.

He is asking questions we might want to know the answer to and if it looks disjointed sometimes the boxers are to blame for waffling, he must only have a certain amount of time to get the interview done in so he may rush at times.

I think he is good at what he does and more to the point he has the respect of the boxers as he has done the job professionally in the ring, so he has an idea of what they go through both there and in training.

He does for me.

Well said Billy. Ed knows his stuff. He certainly will have directors in his ear who might make it difficult at times. If people on here have got nothing better to do than slag off a guy who tries to do his very best, and is more than acceptable in my opinion .....

That's the problem with anyone working at Sky.

You never actually know what they think.... they aren't allowed to think what they want, they just tread the party line.

They need this guy... he was certainly the best thing about this fight!

 

We just need more characters in boxing whether its fighters, trainers or commentators. Thats one of the things we're missing at the moment, there's no real characters. Say what you want about people like Macho Camacho, Ricardo Mayorga, Naz Hamed etc but they were characters who brought a bit of swagga and razmattaz. Actually you could say the only reason Mayorga got so many big fights and made a lot of money was because he was a character.

What i also like about that video is the interactive side of things. Holdsworth answering questions in between rounds. I like Holdsworth and Mee and the way they go about there shows.
