Bryan "El Black" Pérez is a hard-hitting Dominican prospect who can now claim to have beaten every man to have set foot across him in the ring, having avenged his lone professional defeat against countryman Félix "Mangú" Valera this past March. He took a UD, dropping Valera thrice - which is once more than Dmitry Bivol did when he took his own UD in thwarting Valera's challenge for the WBA interim world light heavyweight title in 2016. He is yet to ever compete outside his native Dominican Republic despite being world ranked (WBA #10).

Ramos is a Colombian glass cannon southpaw best remembered for his loss to Juan Manuel Márquez Méndez, which many thought looked like a dive (it wasn't, just a weird looking legit KO). He was a decent amateur, taking gold in the Pan-Am Games in 2003 and making his country's Olympic team in '04 (eliminated in the RO32) but has been a spotty pro since Walter Estrada popped his cherry in 2006, claiming the WBA interim super featherweight title a few years later but immediately hot-potatoing it with Jorge Solis knocking him out in his first defense. He is now 36 year old.

It seems inconsistent yeah, idk. :nusenuse:

...yes indeed; Jairo "The Rock" Sánchez KO1 Luis Ernesto José, in a scheduled 8-rounder at light welterweight. Half a minute left in the opener, caught him with a huge right upper-hook as they were awkwardly separating from a clinch. Sánchez is an okay looking prospect, good power and can switch hit which is never a bad tool for a young fighter to have in his belt - although his defense is pretty leaky just in the couple of minutes we saw tonight. He's only 6-0 though so room to improve.

Huge size difference jumps out at you straight off. Yeyery "El Bujia" Castillo, in the pink, has to be over six feet tall (height not listed on BoxRec nor onscreen that I saw), as Carcamo is 5'7" and just utterly dwarfed in there. Not like the latter is thickly built nor the former all that scrawny, either.

Another big advantage for the currently 10-0 prospect over the 4-5 opponent: he's young enough to be his son. Legally, in any jurisdiction. :sisi1 (Carcamo is 43; Castillo 24)

10-9 Castillo, shocked if this goes eight.

^ It doesn't even go 2, as it happens. Old boy was already taking his gloves off before the other corner was informed of his No Más.

    RTD1!!

    BTW:

The whole reason I was staying up late sniffing out streams for Mexican boxeo in the first place was in the hopes of finding a way to watch the return of explosive former WBA flyweight champion Hernán "Tyson" Márquez Beltrán, taking on Ángel "Pelón" Guevara Valenzuela in Sonora, MX. Unfortunately that is airing on ESPN Knockout which is notoriously difficult to get access to beyond Latin America.

There is a woman, named Isela Hong-Periodista, who appears to be affiliated with the promotion, who streamed at least one bout from that undercard on her Facebook page - so I'm holding out hope that she may do so for the main event. In the meantime, or if that ends up not panning out, we at least have this for our Friday fight fix en español. :ggg

Brayan "El Bazuca" Medina is coming off his only two professional losses, winless since 2019, getting his first taste of defeat last year and getting stopped for the first time by Carlos Adames this past March. Gustavo "El Huracán" Sandoval, like his countryman Ramos in the upcoming main event, is a glass cannon in the quintessential mold of Colombian pugs...and like Ramos appears to be majorly outsized in tonight's assignment. (Ramos fought JMM, remember? And now, a decade later, has climbed from light welter versus Dinamita up to light heavy).

edit: yep, Sandoval is a natural super featherweight, in here now with a giant 154lber.

10-9 Medina, just marching forward and totally unloading on a smaller, podgy man - but to his credit, Sandoval is hanging in tough and flurrying back up at him. Just getting the worst of exchanges, by a lot.

Sandoval down halfway into the second, and courageously beats the count and swaps hooks with Medina, but just way too much of a physical mismatch. Jabs on the flabby breasts of Sandoval cause him to lurch in for a clinch, winded, and some whipping hooks on the body from Medina force him to his knees to finish him off.

    TKO2!!
