I have been studying up on the row lately and am now looking into the carrer of Eddie Booker. This was a fine fighter to say the least with some outstanding wins over Moore, Marshall, Williams, and Shorty Hogue.

He was very consistent to. Never seemed to have a let down. Only 5 losses in 70 some fights and all of his losses were to world class fighters (Williams, Chase, Hogue, Zivic, and Kid). He avenged a couple of those losses as well.

It's a shame he had to retire when he was 26 because of an eye injury. He was fresh off a win in his final fight over Holman Williams, dominated Archie Moore a couple months earlier, and ko'd Matthews a month or two before that.

Black Dynamite seemed to have all the tools. I might have to start rating him pretty high soon. It's a shame he didn't fight Burley.

*edit* any information about this fighter would be welcomed. It can be pretty hard to dig up stuff on these guys.

    I agree with you.

Just based on records, I think he's at the same level with Burley.

Stonehands wrote an outstanding article on Booker and he may be kind enough to re-produce an article or two here. I agree that Booker has a record in the same ballpark as Burley's and he might even have been just as good. He was an artist by all accounts.
