Chambers has been beating up some pretty poor competiton lately but before he won the first of this 3 fight streak he had one win in almost 5 years.

Nothing wrong with picking up a few wins, even over poor competition, just to get back on track.

Since he's being so active if he picks up another quick easy win or two then thats fine but I do hope he's in with a top 10 type of guy soon.

I'm glad Chambers is getting back in the heavyeight mix and if he is near the level he was when he fought Wlad several years ago he either beats or is about even with any heavyweight except Wlad.

Chambers has been training hard with Peter Fury and the Fury family, Peter said Eddie seemed a little shocked at the pace and intensity of the training camps when he first came in, but he stuck it out, focused and is determined to make one last good run in his career.

He has aknowledged himself that his last few opponents havnt exactly been world beaters, but he just wanted to try a few new things out before real contention

Peter Fury offered the fight to Odlanier Solis but a few days before the bout he upped the price and they had to get a stand in that was willing to take a hiding.

They wanted a ranked opponent and Chambers probably took it a little easy on Carl becuase if it wasnt for Carl Baker, he wouldnt have had any ring time last night.

They had agreed with Ian Lewison weeks ago but he pulled out. No one wants to fight Eddie.

They are now trying to get Lucas Browne as an opponent on the Fury v Chisora undercard.

While I personally think Eddie would hide Browne (who was being outboxed by Bahoeli before the stoppage), I can't imagine that that Team Fury wants to invest the kindof $$$$ it would take to make that fight.

Especially considering Browne is $$$$ for either Hughie or Tyson down the road, and Eddie taking his 0 would seriously devalue that fight.

Browne is looking to fight Audley.....a step back from Bahoeli in very imaginable way. But he wants to keep that 0 and that KO% up......and it will pay dividends in a yr or so when he fighting for a title.:think

As for Solis and Lewison.......yeah, I doubt Solis would risk that fight.....and Lewison doesnt TRULY do anything for Eddie in terms of LOC and ranking either......they shoudl be targeting a known journeyman with a solid record for the UC......Ding would be a great fighter to bring in there. As would Gavern or Airich or Pala.:think

Gavern Airich and Pala arent high enough ranked.

Peter Fury wanted a top 15 opponent for this last fight and they had one but he **** his pants and dropped out.

They will deffinitely be wanting a proper ranked fighter for the Firy v Chisora undercard. They are trying to raise Chambers ranking to force a title fight. These fights have just been treading water keeping himsharp and active.

Not permanently. His family is still in America but his training is being done 100% with team Fury which now means being located in Bolton during training camps.

Good on him! Peter is trying to raise his aggression and output. His combination punching are what will help him.

I think a good idea, while they struggle to find a good opponent for the July show would be to invite Thabiso Mchunu for a "behind closed doors" sparring match like they did for Tyson with Takam. Beat him up in sparring.

Are you saying they had a tentative agreement with Solis for that undercard????

If so.....how is having two World level top 30 HWs doing battle on a Regional SMW/LHW prospect undercard work?:huh

Yeah, Solis has slipped since coming back from knee surgery......but he's unmotivated by his promoter pushing him into mythical matchups for short $$$$, only to yank him from the promotion in the weeks leading up to the fight.

As for your inside knowledge.......yeah, Im sure the idea was conceived, but Solis is coming off a L going 12 rds, just 6 wks prior to this card..........why would he go into such a fight with almost ZERO camp, considering he'd need at least 4 wks to heal from the bruising the Thompson fight would have surely created.:huh:huh:huh:huh

You have to give props to Eddie for heading to the UK and wanting to fight in the tough European HW scene. Theres many I doubt would take the risk and look for an easier route outside of Europe, but Eddie has stepped up :clap::clap::clap:
