Wilder could probably handle Liakovich if he had Mitchells instinct, but he don't trust his power yet and you can see it sometimes after he lands a bomb. He pauses to see if it hurt his opponent and if it's safe to continue firing.

I think Wilder has a huge mental gap he needs fill with a chinachinned top 10 like Dimitrenko. Someone he can spark right out and gain confidence in his equalizer.:deal

I don't even know if he's heard the news yet, much less know if he's volunteered to be Eddie's replacement.:think

Big chance for some/any American conterder to step in and get National exposure. Lyakovich is basically shot and another KO waiting to happen.
Rest assured the Network wants an American to step him and finish off Serhei.

    Yeah. :verysad

Best can be hoped for is maybe Zack Page. He's fresh enough, having been in camp until a week ago and then going 8 rounds with Francesco Pianeta.

SES didn't televise it (on the Robin Krasniqi vs. Hakim Zoulikha undercard). Knowing Page, though, he probably didn't take - or deliver - too many clean punishing shots.

He should be ready and willing.

    Seriously, that's about the ceiling.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooo.

    ****, it probably will be.

The NBC people will think "Hey, this guy is entertaining - he's what the fans want! :p"

Depressingly enough, they won't be wrong.

I'd like to see Chauncy Welliver take this fight on NBC. We need guys like Welliver on TV. Welliver will single handedly bring HW boxing back in 2012.

    Wlad ruined Chambers.

Very sad, i like Eddie Chambers and the way he won against Dimitrenko. But after Chambers fought Wlad he isn´t the same fighter.

Same was with Samuel Peter in 2005 and many others.

    I hope Chambers will recover.

Hes got a date next month so hes training I suppose for a TBA

So hes got some prep down but not for a fighter the caliber of Lyakhovich (even a shot Lyakhovich)

I do think that he could take Lyakhovich out though if he filled in

He would certainly get outboxed for the first few rounds but would end up knocking out Lyakhovich

hard to get a decent HW with 1 week notice, if they are lucky they can get a bum who will get pay **** to take a dive the first round.
i wish Luis Ortiz was ready for this, but i doubt it

Not only do we lose a nice fight but NBC's attempt at boxing takes a big hit. Its short notice so that eliminates a lot of guys but it is a fight that can get someone a lot of attention. Someone like Arreola or Mitchell stepping in would be a great save but its pretty unlikely. Maybe a guy like Hanks will take the fight and that would be respectable but, ulitmately, we get some gatekeeper. Now might be the time to make a rematch with Maurice Harris.

I was never convinced Chambers was truly injured when he pulled out with Thompson. He probably is this time but should have faced Thompson when he had the chance(if he wasn't injured) and could have still had a big money rematch with Wlad lined up this summer and wouldn't have gotten hurt training right now. Now Chambers could be looking at long while before another big money payday comes along.
