I think this would be a pretty good fight. I favour Chambers slightly to take a UD but he will be pushed all the way.
He's won 5 straight and has improved since his loss to Povetkin, before beating Peter and Dimitrenko, he never fought to his potential until now. As for Eddie's chin it probably isn't as good as Estrada, but Adamek can't KO Chambers. Some people think Adamek hits really hard at heavyweight because he knocked out a totally shot Golota (who was known to be chinney before he was past his prime). Chambers is in shape and is a live boxer, something Golota is not.
Chambers has deceiving power, anyone who analyzes boxing knows that. Adamek isn't a hard puncher himself, Chambers certainly hits harder then Dawson and Cunningham, boxers Adamek had problems with. Chambers can possibly TKO Adamek if Adamek gets hit too much, but that's highly unlikely, but Adamek will definitely respect Eddie's power.
I swear you Adamek fans SERIOUSLY overrate him. Estrada is as good as Dimitrenko? WTF are you smoking, Dimitrenko was undefeated and knocked boxers who were never knocked out before (Timo Hoffmann) and he was in the top 4 in all sanctioning bodies. Chambers not tough enough to hang with Adamek? You're just a bias dumb Adamek fan, that is just a ridiculous statement. Chambers would school Adamek is what most likely happen happen. I doubt Adamek can even beat Alexander Dimitrenko. Adamek just doesn't have the right bone structure to be weighing in at 220lbs. I wouldn't always bet my money on him especially against Chambers. Oh and I've been a Chambers fan since he beat Dominick Guinn.
How is Estrada better then Dimitrenko? I doubt Adamek can even beat Alexander Dimitrenko, and remember Dimitrenko has real HW power something Estrada does not have.
i go for adamek, even though it looks an awkward fight. it's the small, fit fighters that eddie struggles with. eddie is a brilliant boxer, but povetkin took his heart. and adamek is a fanatic who is better than he looks. also, 12 rds vs estrada (similar build, style) can't be bad practise, can it? chambers isn't as fast as he looks - it's good timing that he has. he usually throws one shot at a time, goes for te clean shots, which favours adamek, who can punch in combination. it'd be very close, but adamek could mug him, edging him over 12 rounds.
dimitrenko is a terrible fighter. but it's a good win for chambers, due to size difference, fighting away from home, and the fact that dimitrenko is quite athletic.
mein gott how some of you would react in the late 80s if you ever saw holyfield v alex stewart, adilson rodriguez...he'd probably have been accused of being useless, with no chance of winning the heavyweight titles...
Chambers is similar fighter to Estrada. Both are slick, but the main difference is Eddie's offense and Estrada's chin. I take Adamek UD against Chambers in a fight that could go either way. I think that Adamek will never look spectacular against small, fast and slick heavies. He entered HW with speed, combo-punching, dynamism, good footwork - something that 6'4 +240 lb guys often don't have and can trouble them.
What? Eddie not only has better offense, but he's also much faster, and a much BETTER boxer overall. Chambers can take a punch, and it's not like Adamek has knock out power.
Compare Chambers speed in Povetkin fight and Dimitrenko fight. Against Ukrainian his punches looked blinding fast. Against Povetkin (who has decent handspeed himself) that speed didn't look so spectacular. Now look at Adamek's fight with Estrada. Both guys have very hast hands for HW division. Estrada can stand like a statue and then fire right from nowhere! He tried that against Adamek and I'm still wondering how 6'1 240 guy can be so fast! Chambers can take a punch, but Estrada looks immposible to KO - that's quite of difference.
exactly. he's built himself up to fight bigger fights, and will be more impressive vs them. the estrada fight was weird, because he's the kind of small, compact, defensively sound fighter that adamek probably won't be fighting any more of. on saturday adamek's main problem was finding the target. he could take the shots because estrada isn't a puncher. vs other heavyweights, he will have an easy target to hit. and he will be more inclined to avoid his opponent's shots, because there will be more power. i believe adaek has built himself up to fight guys like arreola. reckon he should have been 217 vs estrada to have more speed.
