i don't think adamek v chambers will ever happen. so perhaps the thread is a little redundant, even if it's tempting to wonder about adamke v chambers. povetkin, who beat chambers, and who's a pressure fighter, is more likely to beat wlad. if povetkin beats wlad, you can bet adamek will want to fight him. povetkin v adamek, haye v adamek - these are the fights i believe that adamek will get. and i think they will be sensational fights. and i'd hesitate to pick a winner.
If fights like this will happen not many people will say that "HW division is dead" again. Adamek vs Haye or Povetkin are great for boxing!
They are not going to fight soon as both have other fights scheduled, so I would go with Adamek. If they fought today, I would go with Chambers, but Adamek is improving and is really consistent fighter. Also, Chambers is almost guaranteed to get prolonged beating from Wlad, probably worse (in health sense) than Adamek from Arreola.
Don't let the official cards fool you. He put on clinics against both of them. Don't hold it against Chambers just because there were bad judges on each of the fights. Adamek is one of my favorite fighters and probably my favorite fighter north of welterweight, but you're being a straight up nuthugger here. Don't pretend like he showed no weaknesses in this fight. And while Adamek looked better against Estrada at his best points than Povetkin did against Estrada, Estrada CERTAINLY came closer to beating Adamek than he did Povetkin. Or, think of it this way - Chambers is a lot like a harder hitting version of Cunningham, the same guy who Adamek needed to knock down three times to beat. No way can Adamek knock down Chambers (whose chin is much better than Cunningham's) three times. I'm not saying Chambers would win (I think it's about a pick em fight), but there's no way this is some kind of no-brainer blowout win for Adamek.
Taking the Klitschkos out of the equation, the other top guys are quite hard to compare head to head. Haye, Povetkin, Chambers, Adamek and Arreola are all very good fighters and in most cases I think styles dictate the winners if they all fought. Its a pity Chagaev isn't doing anything at the moment aswell, there are potentially some fantastic fights that could be made amongst the current generation heavies
I can't say how much better he is but the fact is HE IS BETTER. Dimitrenko stepped up for the first time and he lost.
When has Estrada stepped up and won? Lance Whitaker? Derric Rossy is a better win than any win Estrada has. They're probably about on the level - each guy would trouble different fighters in different ways. Estrada's much more of a smooth fighter who can outbox guys, but he'll never bother someone with his size or power. Dimitrenko is robotic and clumsy, but is huge and has enough power to keep people honest.
Maybe overrate. But maybe they just give him a credit, because he is a 2-division champion who performs well at his new weight division.
credit=overrating ... but I'm not sure whether thats bad, should people better underrate him so he could gave Estrada rematch and then target Bonin? Its no spice in that so better give him a credit (overrate) and let him fight bigger fish if that is his will.
