Anyone else surprised at this occasionally shaky (sometimes great but sometimes complacent) ref doing an amazing job in such a clinch fest? he was always right there breaking **** up making sure we didn't get wrestling leading to a dq again. http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/01AG6060C38E3/610x.jpg hahaha i said eddie cotto MEANT TO SAY EDDIE COTTON OBVIOUSLY
I thought he broke the clinches too early as almost every modern day ref does... but I guess he did it to minimize Bernard's rough house tactics. I didn't particularly like the fact that he called the butt that opened up Dawson's gash "accidental" Yeah, I'm sure straight as an arrow Hopkins didn't mean to do that. Overall though, I think he kept the peace fairly well in a fight that could've been much uglier. I give him a solid B grade.
I thought so too, but at the same time Bernard was pulling every trick out of his sleeve that he could, and Cotton was rightfully being stern with him otherwise. Although I did chuckle the one time Cotton went over to him and just started shaking his head.
Clearly a god damn conspiracy to rid boxing of Hopkins by HBO. Bernard and HBO been sparring for years. The headbutt Didnt even cause that cut. Cotton ended all clinches too early favoring Dawson and he still was not effective. Ring generalship is no longer a scoring criteria. Compubox was disgraceful. Steward, Lampley and Kellerman were at their worst tonight. Lampley is conflicted. He almost gaged when he had to read "Roadblock" Very ironic it is a show about Floyd. He realized it. Steward thinks Floyd is fighting Margarito May 5th. They praised Dawson for doing nothing and not pressing a 47 year old. Multiple times Hopkins landed wicked lead rights and NOTHING was said. #Disgusting.
:rofl I loved that. That was very ambiguous to me. Like ''Professionally, I've got to get on your ass and you're frustrating the **** out of me but personally, yeah, I get it, you great, dirty, old *******.''
