Banks showed enough punching power that he will have have a chance against Enzo. But Enzo is in fantastic condition nowadays, and I think Banks' vulnerabilities will make Enzo the favourite still.

Cunningham would beat him on PTS, but Banks has snap in his punches, fairly decent ability and went 8 rounds with Adamek before being stopped. He's no joker. For the first five rounds he's dangerous.

Banks was fighting for the title and was either winning or very close to doing so. If he was getting dominated it would be one thing, but he was arguably winning or at least tied or within a point. You give him his shot at that point.

This is the first time I saw Banks fight and to be honest, he looked really average, I expected a lot more from a guy whose been trained under Stewart. Guys Stewart picks usually have tons of talent to begin with and with Bank I didn't see nothing, no speed, no great technique no nothing. Credit to Adamek though, he did what he had to.

Strong rationale, that might have been Cotton's. Still, Banks was gone, and what happened after Cotton allowed him to resume is absolute proof of that. Forget about the fact that people were screaming at their TV's to stop it on the first count - it was just obvious anyway. Instincts or intellect.

Oh whatever! Sensitive ass boxing fans these days.:verysad Banks was prety out of it after that 1st knockdown, but he wasn't completely smashed at that point yet, so the call by Cotton to let the guy continue was just fine.

Good comeback, great KO at the end.. what the **** are all you complaining about? Go watch golf if you can't take brutality like that.

I am of the opinion that Eddie Cotton has been an incompetent ref for quite some time.
Anyone remember his performance in the Tyson-Lewis fight? He was obviously biased against Lewis.

    agreed.
its a world title fight boys...he got knocked down one time and said he was ok....if he would have stopped it there people would have bitched. if you dont like violent endings, watch some tennis or golf

I disagree, Banks is a big boy.
(Cotton gave him the benefit of the doubt)

i am all for fights being stopped a little early rather than a little late, he could have called a halt after the 1st shots hurt him, but i guess he musta thought , its a world title fight, give him a little longer , i would have stopped it , but it was no mercer v Morrison by any means.. Cotton had to make a fast call, referees get a hard job in there .. a case either way...
