for these comments, I can only call you a clown. Such a silly thing to say. quick example-what about just recently jennings vs cotto- jennings was up- the ref thankfully saw he was finished and didnt want any more punishment- but with your theory, hes up...so let him take more of a beating!
That's exactly an example of the quick waves off I'm talking it. They didn't do it that way in the old days. You call me a clown all you want, I see you as part of a virus that has infected boxing fandom, turning many of them into a bunch of whining females. Again, you don't want to see some blood and guts, go watch tennis. This is boxing, people get knocked out, and they should. It's what makes the sport what it is.
sorry your not a clown - youre an idiot. go watch mma or some streetfight stuff or somethin - this is Boxing. Its not about the brutality of watching someone pummeled to near death. --which is what you apparently wanted to see when the jennings stoppage was too premature for you...awww. go away
Sorry, noob, this my home site. And I intend to continue criticizing the premature stoppages you and other modern (feminized) boxing fans favor, and applauding refs who let fights go to their natural conclusions. In the old days, boxing fans were MEN, and they wanted to see the conclusive endings they PAID to see.:yep
ok 'noob' my last reply to you is---no fans in the 'old days' wanted to see brains battered. For the sport of boxing-the sweet science- to survive, certain modifications needed to occur, for example improving safety, so that the sport could and can survive. People in them 'old days' and now, will be turning off if what you want - a spectable of violence and gore- is all boxing has to offer. thats something for certain people which want to feed the gore fetish then as i said i suggest following something else
"Safety" does not have to mean fights get stopped too early, like you seem to favor. In fact, Mr. Banks seems to be doing just fine. And the fact that boxing has DECLINED in popularity in direct proportion to the degree it has become more squeamish about letting fights go to their natural conclusion puts the lie to the rest of your argument.
This is what we need more of. That was a good call. The boy had a bit left in 'eem. Had Banks come back from that, and it was possible, it's been done b4, Everyone here would've ****in' loved it.
no it doesnt lol. thats not the reason boxing is in a recession. Try all the politics involved as a quick example. As you may have noticed with my screen name- i love fights that are boxing 'wars'. I just dont want to see fighters needlesley suffer punishment and a brutal beating to please the likes of yourself. Also my point wasnt necesseraly for the banks fight- i was saying more how the ref didnt conduct things the right way and how it was probably a KO fromt he first knockdown- again from what i remember the ref yanked him by the arms at like 8 when he wasnt even properly facing him and put him back in there, when he seemed gone
it certainly paled in comparison to mercer-morrison. could stopped it, but it wasn't obvious that he should of. I thought it shoulda been stopped, by BANKS' stupid a$$ hip-hop homeboy corner.
Haven't even seen the fight - my single comment is on some of the posts here. The very, very first thing you learn as a referee is that the primary concern of the referee is the welfare of the boxer. Not what fans want to see but the condition of the fighter and whether or not he can not only is on his feet but can defend himself and fire back
We rilly need a boxing league, aside from the one that most of us love, that uses head gear and has quick-to-stop refs. for some of these folks. That way, some of you can have your vagisil boxing, and we can have ours. Everyone would be happy.
everyone would be happy youre right. we have our championship boxing...you have your ancient street fighting
Excellent points. And that's another thing these feminized "boxing fans" ignore, the opportunity to come BACK from the brink of defeat. So many fights have been RUINED because of the ridiculously early calls many modern refs make. And fighters have been cheated of their opportunity to win, and fans cheating of the CONCLUSIVE endings we should be able to see.
