Gil, Al is a manager, the fighters he manages still have promoters that promote their fights. Hearn is a promoter. With Al and Hearn being two different things, and both being able to coexist on the same team with a fighter signed to Hearn, how exactly are you coming to the conclusion that Hearn would 'steal' fighters from Al? Jacobs, for example, has both Hearn as a promoter, and Al as an adviser.
It think Gil is a little butt hurt by Hearn for some reason.. Sad when the promoters get haters on this forum...
I am only trying to help You must know that Haymon has made his career cutting out promoters from his fighters’ lives, and that, until the lawsuit with Arum, Haymon’s standard contract gave him veto power over signing with any promoter. Eddie announcing loudly at the start of a negotiation that he intended to sign two of Haymon’s marquee fighters is clearly bad faith by any business standard, and appeared designed to sabotage the Wilder negotiation before it even started. But much more clearly, Eddie’s whole handling of the Wilder negotiation was designed to sabotage it.
@Gil Gonzalez "You must know that Haymon has made his career cutting out promoters from his fighters’ lives". Wilder has more promoters/managers than viewers on HBO. Stop talking nonsense. Hearn wanted to sign Wilder because it makes the Joshua fight easier to make..... Why has he signed Khan, to avoid a fight with Brook? Behave man......
Who are all advised by Al Haymon. Sounds like Matchroom and PBC are becoming partners. Richard Schaefer was on hand yesterday for the shoving match.
Interesting interview. The fact he says he has committed dates from a broadcaster and a pot of money now that blows every other US promoter out of the water only strengthens the rumours that he's brokered a deal with a big streaming service. Money talks, it's how Haymon was able to grab a hold of so many US boxers but if Hearn can now out bid everyone else as he suggests then you have to feel he'll be signing some big names in the future.
Haymon isn't a promoter. He is a manager, advisor type. He will be on board regardless of who the Charlos are signed to
