Eddie is the young version of King, Arum and Haymon that's it. He is a businessman and nothing more. He is willing to sacrifice his guys like King, and is always in the camera, he is a double talking slickster like Arum, and a money grabbing shrewed like Haymon. The usual suspects will cheer his arrival because of his looks ( you know what I mean) and he won't deliver on much for years because Americans are far too divided and gullible to force him to do anything. P.S. Eddie is a elite member of the Peter Gazer club.
An over privileged lying double dealing con artist scumbag who is living on borrowed time , off the back of Brand Joshua whilst using his wretched old man's money and sky's money to brainwash low IQ and willfully ignorant casuals and sheeple into believing he is giving them special deals and doing them big favours by charging double the price of tickets after falsely pretending they are sold out within minutes. Phew....
^^^^^ this. Warren is in the twilight of his career and Edward has filled the gap, albeit with a working knowledge and application of the power of social media as well as by inextricably linking his brand with the very en vogue AJ. He plays the "Essex wheeler dealer" role well despite being a rich kid who went to an expensive private school, though to give him his dues he does admit this when pressed.
Correction- Sky have revitalised British Boxing. It's not a Concidence that when Hearn got the Exclusive Sky Deal he became number one and all the top fighters went to him. The level of affection for Hearn here is staggering. I know Sky are not the most popular brand/tv network in the UK, but they are responsible. You think Anthony Joshua would have signed with Matchroom in 2013 if Sky wasn't involved ? But there are two distinctive things i like about Eddie, he's available on social media and engages with fans and gives us background info on IFL and is readily/easily available to talk too.
In terms of "educated". I don't even think Eddie Hearn went to University, intrested to know what he done after his A Levels.
I'll put it this way: Sky are the restaurant owner, the boxers are the ingredients and Hearn's the chef, so you can't have success without all those aspects. His energy and drive have been a big factor I would argue, although you're right, without Sky cash that would be immaterial. But could Warren have done as good a job if Sky had turned to him? I doubt it. He's wearing thin on me though, and the Wilder fight shenanigans are a lot to do with that....
Best promoter out there at the moment by far. Comes across well in all his interviews, I just dont think Americans understand his banter. You can accuse him of stealing the limelight but you can’t blame him, his profile raises the profile of all of his fighters. What he’s done for the lives/careers of some pretty average British fighters has been incredible (Barker,Crolla,Fielding)
You may as well go and beg for Eddie's permission, to choke on his member, with all the nauseating brown nosing fluff that you've just come out with.
I really think the hatred for him on this forum probably answers the question.. He is easily the most talked about promoter on here and thats because he has fully embraced the current media (as well as traditional) and not a day goes by where he doesn't have a clip on Youtube.. If someone got most people here to name the first promoted that came into your head with out thinking I be 90% would say Eddie Hearn.. This flows on to promoting his fighters and getting his product (boxing show) into the public eye.. He pretty much does what a promoter should do but is ahead of the game because of his use of current technology..
As a personality, he’s a twat. As a promoter, he ruined Kell Brook for a few quid in return, and his mission to protect KO-waiting-to-happen AJ is doomed to fail. As are his American adventures. In other words, his 15 minutes are almost over.
I think he has been an excellent promoter, we don't have to like him personally... he is a businessman first and foremost so he's clearly going to be looking out for his biggest cashcows BUT we all stand to benefit from what he does. He wants boxing to stay lucrative, and it putting heaps of work into making it so for a long time. While there is a lot of talent going on, he has definitely had a hand in making it build up again and there isn't much to hate in that. The 12 months have been one of the best years in boxing for a REALLY long time, in my opinion - and Matchroom has been in the thick of it.
