No big surprise here its been a while since main stream audiences new who the Heavyweight champion wasthey wouldn't know who Joshua was either. It used to be that everybody new who the champ was but having so many belts has hurt the sport

This is boxing mofo. Fighters fight. They don't listen to mofos like Hearn. Hearn is out for money, but to fighters fighting is their career. Man wtf has happened to the backbone of the true boxing fan, lmao.

TBH I feel like it's just some shitty showmanship on hearns part to give a reason to delay the fight. I don't give a **** if he has one fan. Just make the contract up and sign it. If Joshua is as great as they think then he'll wipe the floor with Wilder, and keep chugging along making money. Fight him for $2.50 at the corner store if you're so confident he'll win, sacrifice one mega payday for a decent name on your resume and keep moving along building up your claim as a great heavyweight where you actually have a good reason to deserve these paydays.

I don't really ever recall Wladimir, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Marciano, Liston, etc etc etc, turning down or delaying fights against decent opponents because 'the money wasn't there' or 'he didn't have enough fans'. (Tho I'm happy to be proved wrong).

All it says is 'I'm scared my money making machine might actually take a loss'. But fans don't want to see who can make the most money in boxing. They want to see who the best fighters on the planet are. It's like they forget that fans are the ones lining their pockets and all this politicking is driving fans away by refusing to make fights over matters that aren't related to actually fighting is going to ultimately kill their paydays.

I think the vast majority of people can't name a single current champion in any division.

Is Hearn even serious about making the fight between Joshua and Wilder?

Because they never see them in action because 90% of the champions and 'stars' are too busy arguing over who deserves more pay and forgetting to actually fight lol

Agreed. Boxing is ridiculous now more than ever.

The 90's was the last great era. 2000's were a bunch of 90's stars that aged well still dominating. The first half of 2010's was those same 90's fighters still dominating, and now we are left with a bunch of entitled, mediocre hype jobs arguing about paydays.

Great post bud, but I'm not sure Wlad should be named. He turned down everything that wasn't ordered by a sanctioning body.

Johnson vs Langford/Jeanette, Johnson said something to the effect of no one wants to see two black folk fighting they want to see a white man win.

That's probably the best way to describe current boxing TBH. Entitled. A large majority think they deserve these massive pays for, in the scheme of things, relatively average accomplishments in relation to what many past greats had to go through to be worthy of the big bucks that boxing offers. It's why I like fighters like Ward, Badou Jack, Gassiev, Lomachenko, Usyk, Parker, etc, they're not just passively sitting back trying to talk their way into a payday. They're in there every match trying to earn it.

    Very good move by Hearn

he is proving to Wilder that is not the draw he thinks he is, and does not deserve as big a cut of the fight $$$$

you know he will be demanding somewhere close to half and his lack of drawing power proves he does not deserve Anywhere near that given how unknown his name is

Wyler is intentionally pricing himself out

Who cares. Let them fight 50/50 and the winner will actually maybe deserve the millions that'll come for them afterwards. These guys are just trying to get paid more before they've even proven they're worthy of the bigger pay.
