Hearn is simply proving the point here that Wilder's demands of 50/50 against Joshua...and for it to be staged in the US....are a complete joke.

Eddie Hearn wants Wilder to be a big name in the sport....he wants an absolute "Greatest of all time" mega fight between Joshua and Wilder...but he's simply explaining why Wilder's expectations of his cut are completely delusional.

Some of you who blindlessly follow Wilder around don't realise how little Wilder actually deserves from this fight, in my opinion, he would be lucky to get the fight for 10% of the gate....he certainly hasn't earnt a big fight.

To those who commented "Ask them who Anthony Joshua is" .....well that comparison is a complete joke. Asking New York residents who Anthony Joshua is, would be the same as asking London residents who Deontay Wilder is. If Wilder isn't known in his own country, he isn't going to be known abroad.

Another open and honest interview by Eddie Hearn, for free, to boxing fans. All the guy is doing is explaining why the lack of profile current US boxers have is damaging to US boxing. Take Mike Tyson as an example, he's a name that even guys walking the street over here in Britain would know.

He even said he wants the fight in 2018 if it's possible.

In another interview he also said he wants to work with Tyson Fury.....If Joshua and Hearn are ducking challengers, why are they trying to increase the level of opposition they face?

    Huh?

Wilder's pay for this fight should match his career highest earnings + cost of travel.

Wilder does not deserve to be taking any more money than that!

    “Who cares”?

Would you willfully give away several million dollars to an opponent you know he did not deserve because his name is not known ?

I would like to see the fight but I can fully understand Hearns reasoning behind wanting to pay Wilder ONLY the amount his name will draw to the fight

Joshua brings in it big money and big crowds; wilder is largely unknown

I really don't care about the money but Joshua deserves the home court and the bigger slice of the pie. There is no fairness in business world.

    Because there's 12 zodiac signs.

This is funny and sad. I really wish boxing went back to being really popular, but the average attention span is becoming lower and lower. I think one of the reasons MMA is more popular in the USA now is because the fights are shorter on average.

It'd be like Jeff Horn demanding Mayweather to fight in Australia for 50/50

Well that ends that conversation about Wilder being any sort of draw in the US. No money in a US fight, Wilder has no huge backing so it is only realistic in the UK.

So Wider can stop contradicting himself now, saying in one interview he'll come to the UK and in the next saying the money is in the US and it's the home of boxing.

The UK is the home of boxing now, this is where the real money is, boxing is almost dead in the US because of UFC.

Anyway, Wilder is a joke, hardly nobody knows him in his own country, as a heavyweight world champion that really is embarrassing.

Wilder knows his name is not going to sell many tickets or PPVs so he’s acting Hearn and Joshua are avoiding him out of fear

Hearn and Joshua merely want the percentage that their name is WORTH, and to pay wilder the percentage that his name is WORTH

If Wilder wants anywhere close to an even split that is a joke; one that everyone sees through.

I'm not nationalistic troll or anything but Boxing was founded in Britain. America held great bouts for a 100 years, but its not the home of boxing. Boxing is now a worldwide sport, as is football/soccer. All this "mecca" of boxing needs to stop, right now, Britain is the hotbed of boxing. It'll return to the states one day for sure.

Joshua fought Klitschko in front of an immense crowd of 90 K people. A lot of that draw was due to Klitschko, certainly, but much of it had to do with Joshua and now, post win, Joshua has even more name recognition after that dramatic win over the decade long champion

Wilder can’t generate but a fraction of the numbers Joshua brings. The guy is not largely unknown, he is entirely unknown

Regardless of if Wilder has the Greenbelt or not, his name is nothing as far as drawing power

Willing to fight in the UK and pointing out there is more money to be made in America isn't at all a contradiction. He's willing to fight Joshua at home, but if Joshua was really building for the best position he'd be doing that in the US because the market is bigger and boxing market strategies are not nation based, read Mendoza's book. Since the market size is like five times the UK that's quite a lot of money to not be interested in. It's supposed to make you question Team Joshua's motives and falls into the " They are ducking me" narrative. Why're you actin' so ****ed to death ****in' mook dumb?

Even if you do get 90k asses in seats in London that's just being worried about asses in seats, gate, pre Don King ****. CBS, Showtime, HBO, Fox, and ESPN are all top ten global networks. Sky isn't. Uk doesn't have a Nike or Gatorade, etc. Put two and two together now mookey. Where is da money? Probably in doing a Gatorade commercial to air on CBS init? Yeah....probably.

Wilder's not saying Wilder's bigger in america, that's ****ing stupid, I don't why you'd think that except to assume yer pretty ****in' dumb. Obviously Wilder's just pointing out staying in the UK isn't at all Joshua's best position for money it's his best position for gifts. The money is in America, look at the ****in' market difference. What's AJ make 20 mil ish? What's five times that? A Mayweather pay-out you goofy mook that ya are. But that's just ****in' a coinkydink intit?
