I wonder if Allegedly would make Froch vs Cleverly..... He's never been stopped, he's not a puncher....
I agree with Bunce on the Froch issue. Why send Froch half way round the world AGAIN when the Bute fight will still be there in 6 or 12 months? Let the fella have a break. Fight a decent ranked opponent - somebody like Mendy, Magee or Andrade etc - not a complete bum but a relatively easy nights work. Then get back on the horse and try for Kessler or Bute. As for Eddie / Frank - time will tell if Eddies strategy will work. If Barker / Brook are in big fights in 2 or 3 years then he has done his job. Throwing Barker to Martinez was a bit of a no lose strategy. Frank has obviously had his successes over the years but the trend at the moment is not good. This Karpency fight is beyond pathetic.
If a fighter has a soft touch people complain, if a fighter constantly fights the best people complain. Why don't you all **** off.
Think about it this way...Barry Hearn takes Eubank to America in about 1990 and he loses ...Calzaghe goes to America in 1998 and loses... think like promoters and not fans for just one second. This is a business...and it will always be a business...put your hand on your heart and tell me that more people would watch Froch v Bute than Froch v DeGale...that's promoting, trust me. It's a crying shame but when Froch was in Finland and Denmark in 2010 and Atlantic City earlier last year he never even had the full turn out of press...Eubank and Calzaghe had 100 percent for all of their defences and that helped build them. Waste your energy elsewhere because this is the way that boxing works. Boxing fans often act like that paranoid nutter from Viz, Big Vern...only happy when they have knocked everything and kicked every fight in the teeth and then turned the shooter on themselves...we have NEVER had it so good with the coverage and the fights and fighters coming through. I left that piece of shite site Bolloxscene because I truly believed that the posts were anti-boxing - not just anti-BoxNation - and I hope this doesn't go the same way. We have to stop being so negative and that includes promoters knocking promoters. Adios.
So you expect us all to pay money every month to watch Cleverly and Burns defend against bums? **** off with that **** Buncey, I see where you're coming from in that you can't expect fighters to travel and fight the best each time, but the **** Frank has been force feeding us recently is the worst of the worst. He thinks he can give his fighters one decent fight (Katsidis, Bellew) then 3 fights against nobody's. If that's the way BoxNation is going to handle things then the channel is going nowhere.
Why not make a Cleverly vs Bellew rematch, instead of this shite? That way he doesn't also have to find Bomber an opponent. Make a few in-house fights if there's lads at the same level.
The froch - Bute fight will only happen if there is an agreement on a second fight in Nottingham, which they wont get imo,so in all likelyhood he will get a soft touch then hopefully Kessler in late summer.
Sorry Steve but are you...starting to lose it?...Froch wants a title and to get back in the mix, beat Bute and you're back up there take the fight and open doors quickly rather than **** about for 12 months facing a B level guy and hoping the offer is still on the table.
Mckay, That is the way boxing handles business. Froch broke with tradition and that's great and nobody praised him longer or more than me. But, all champions take easy fights - Ali beats Foreman and fights Wepner next, fact. Look at the record books...If Darren Barker had beaten Martinez do you think that he would have met Andy Lee? Get real. If Hearn and ****** had used you as an advisor then 20 years of Eubank, Calzaghe and Hatton on SKY, making it and themselves rich, would NEVER have happened. They were promoted and that suited everybody, simple fact. Take your BoxNation hate elsewhere. Adios.
And would've been unsuccessful in making that fight. There's no way in Swindon that ****** would've put Degale in with Froch at this stage of their careers. I agree that putting Froch in with Bute straight after the Super 6 is pretty brutal though.
Thing is Buncey back in the day fighters used to fight 4/5 times a year so it wasn't a big deal if one or two of the opponents weren't up to scratch. When you've got people like Cleverly fighting 2/3 times a year then you can't have too many soft touches - especially if you're a champion. Now if Frank is going to use Boxnation to keep Nathan busy and have him out 4 times this year building up to a biggish fight then you could sort of excuse this fight but I seriously doubt that's going to happen.
It's not Boxnation hate, I would love the channel to be a success, but by feeding us **** like Cleverly v Karpency you're not doing the sport any good. Why is it only British fighters who defend against total cans once they win a title? Look at Burns' Super Feather reign, noone was expecting him to jump straight in with Gamboa but he could have faced Solis, Salgado, Cabbalero, Litzau, Juarez, Mendez, Perez - all top class fighters that were desrving of a world title shot. Instead we got a Norwegian midget who noone had ever heard of,a guy who had been beaten by guys burns had beaten during his Commonwealth reign and an ancient Nicky Cook with a ****ed back who had fought once in two years (Against ****ing Youssef Al Hamidi). Now it looks like Clev is going down the same route. Stuff like this ruins boxing, you can tell us otherwise all you like but noone is buying it.
Boro, Harder fights have been made. Ishy, Let's hope that BoxNation keeps the fighters busy. That's the plan. I hope SKY get Brook, Froch and Barker out 4 or 5 times this year. I'm sure that is the plan. Adios for now.
