Eddie Hearn keeps saying that Team Wilder haven't contacted him at all. But how can this be when we already know they have been in discussions, Shelley Winkel already confirmed this and showed proof so why does Eddie Hearn keep sayin this? Also, why does Eddie expect Team Wilder to make an offer when Eddie says that they are the A side, isn't it usually the A side that make the offer? Also Wilder has numerous times stated that he will take 70-30 to AJ just as long as the reverse happens in the rematch, and Eddie was told about this and said yes they can make that, so again why does Eddie keep saying that Team wilder don't want this fight? Lastly, Eddie is quick to say on camera that they have made an offer to team wilder to fight Dillan Whyte, even stating sometimes what the offer is. Has he once mentioned any offer he's made to team wilder to fight AJ? Look how enthusiastic he is when he speaks about the Whyte Wilder fight, then look how not so enthusiastic he is when he speaks about AJ Wilder fight.
The funniest is his new interview with ifl, were within 20 seconds of saying he’s had no offer’s from wilders team he then says they can’t offering anything anyway, so why should the onus be on wilders side to make an offer you pleb. 2 minutes in This content is protected
Only negotiation talks I am aware of was when Hearn was in NY for the Jacobs fight and they were on the radio station and agreed to talk later that week. No offers were given all that happened was they agreed to compare numbers and then Wilder came out with the 50/50 demand which basically put an end to any meaningful attempt at negotiations. Then of course we have Shelley Finkel's letter which doesn't actually show he ever contacted Eddie, because Finkel was talking to Eddie's old man Barry who then contacted his son and it was Eddie who then reached out saying he would get the numbers, but of course the Wilder 50/50 demand happened and so Eddie didn't bother knowing they were nowhere near ready to sit down and have serious discussions regarding the fight. So technically Eddie didn't lie, but there is a lack of real desire to make the fight on both ends if I am honest. Hearn still wants the fight at the end of the year and has shown nothing to suggest he wants it any sooner.
Answer @velagod point though. Eddie keeps bragging about how Wilder’s team don’t have the money to make the offer and are B-Side... so the onus is clearly on Hearn to pull the finger out of his arse, stop hiding Juicesha behind Whyte and make a reasonable offer. Wilder has publicly proposed a 30/70 split with the reverse applying in a rematch. TOTALLY FAIR.
He's looked even more slippery than normal lately Hearn. Their not being totally honest about the Wilder situation him and Joshua imo. Judging by the way he fought against Parker, hes more business first, and I think that will cost him long term in a fight. He's going to fight someone that wants to beat him first and foremost and he will be thinking of the long term finance goal and get beat
He is referring to the last offer he made; which has been met with silence.... If these allegations were without substance then Finkel or Duva would have addressed them already....
Parker was more elusive last night than Wilder was v Ortiiz and his counters were faster that`s why AJ was fighting nervous like how Wilder fought the less sharp Ortiz.
This whole break down of negotiations because wilder says in public of 50-50 is complete bollocks from hearn, why would that break down discussion’s it’s called brinkmanship always approach the table within a point of power wilder isn’t going to come out public at a start of negotiations on a megafight and say yeah hearn you pay me what you think is fair he’s going to say opposite same as Parker’s team did at start of there discussion’s.
Does any of it matter. We shouldnt look past last night now. AJ called Wilder out, Wilder has called AJ out. Thats all that needed to happen at the end of the fight, we all knew the media would be chomping at the bit to ask him about the American. Its a shame Wilder wasnt there but it was all positive stuff as regards to the fight anyway. And in regards to what you actually ask. I agree with the last bit and disagree with the rest of it. Shirley was holding up an email from Eddie to Shirley. Where is the reply? They never replied to it. So Winkle can go shove his stupid email from ages ago. Both side can make offers, Hearn isnt guna make an offer to Wilder when he can make an easier deal to fight Parker for his title and any good promoter would tell you if they wanted to try unify with both Parker and Wilder they would do it in that order because Wilder is the tougher fight and should be the bigger fight so let everybody stew themselves thinking about that one on the horizon. Before that was the Pulev mando and before that was Wlad. Cant exactly say Joshua is running down bum street to avoid Wilder. Fact is team Wilder have not made one single step, phone call, email, text or enquiry of any kind. Had they done that they would of had some answers from Hearn which they could take to social media to put Hearn in a corner when he backtracked on what he said. But they havnt. Using social media does not do anything to put pen on paper here. Eddie wasnt forcing the issue cuz he wanted Parker before Wilder, within a minute of Joshua getting his hand raised against Parker he had called out Wilder. I do agree though, Hearn is worried about Wilder, and so he should be. If it were up to him this fight would still be atleast a year away. He did take Ortiz under his wing to help keep him away from AJ, he was trying to get Whyte in there before Joshua, who knows Whyte could of got lucky and then Hearns problem goes away, infact its a double win. Saying that he is Whytes promoter too so he would be doing for Whyte what he does for AJ, gets them the fights they want. But at the end of the day its up to Anthony Joshua not Eddie Hearn, Hearn can advise Joshua and try talk him out of things but Joshua is ambitious and has given it to Eddie to help create that fight for him.
Its not a 1 way avenue where only the big player can start any proceedings. Team Wilder can ring Eddie and ask for a meeting, thats how it usually starts. Or Hearn can go to Haymon or who ever and do the same thing. Eddie isnt in a rush, his fighter was lining up a unification anyway. Wilders team claim to be in a rush yet havnt gone even to step 1 of starting some sort of negotiation.
Come on now fella. Neither one are in any position to be negotiating Joshua vs Wilder. Thats just being silly.
I didn’t say negotiations you asked about discussion’s and two people who have a working history together who have a vested interest and are connected to both camps met to discuss the fight.
