You can say that he made the wrong decisions, but I don't think he was happy to stay at home. If he'd have ducked Spence after a previous WW fight I'd agree. But he was coming back after a brave loss against GG where he was kept out of action for a while due to having surgery. So under the circumstances, he didn't have to take that fight. Nobody could have accused him of shirking a challenge after he'd just fought GG.
Becauase all those potential fights you just mentioned make less money than Khan v Brook in the Uk you dimwit.
Not an expert in Economics, but what did the pound going down against the USD which i presume was during the Aftermath of Brexit have to do with not making the fight ? It only went down a little if i remember right ?
I thi AJ/Hearn made the right choice in delaying the Wilder fight. I disagree, i think it’ll only take someone rare to become a big PPV Superstar in the US. Boxing is dead over their in terms of casuals and PPV Fighters.
You don’t know that yet. Khan dosent have the luxury of choice. Pacquiao v Khan- Hearn said Manny wants a big gurantee which he cannot provide. Khan will get knocked out by Thurman, Garcia, Spence, Broner etc So his only sensible choice is to fight Brook. Brook knows this, so he’s doing the right thing. Brook will get his face PERMANENTLY Smashed in if he takes on any of those US Fighters you mentioned. It’ll also be for less money in the US as it won’t be PPV in the UK or US
He was gunna get paid just significantly less than he wanted but some times you gotta take short money to get the big money later. He got restless and made a rash decision
10% drop night of the vote https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp....oost-by-projected-remain-win-in-eu-referendum This content is protected That interview has arum saying 20% drop in the pound is why the fight couldn't happen. Remember they were paying Vargas over $2 million. Now if Brook was having to say take $1 Mil but he gets offered a GGG fight for £4 mil I can see why he took that fight. The GGG gave him security for life as well as the opportunity to defend his title in the future if he lost. I'm not convinced that the majority of fighters wouldnt of made the same choice.
With 2 busted eye sockets? Sure it would be nice for Crawford to have current Brook on his resume? No. They'd just call Brook a has-been so it would be of little value to Bud and physically very risky for Brook at this stage of his career. Maybe Brook should beat a bunch of lesser known, light-hitting guys at a comfortable weight (154?) to make a retirement stake and call it good? See if he can get the Khan retirement fight at some point. Or how about guys like Lamont Peterson or Devon Alexander or Berto? Guys that are off their peak too, but with enough name recognition to get decent spots on undercards of bigger fights. Just grind it out.
What I said was he would get paid a good amount due to Top Rank needing a legitimate opponent.. They just made a big investment in Crawford and he can quickly become Adonis Stevenson fighting Benavides or Adame etc.. Say what you want but a Brook win on Crawford’s resume would look better than any other victory he currently has or I’m the near future.. Everybodies resume can be deciphered and criticized.. Current Brook with 2 glass eyes > Berto, Alexander, Peterson..
Yeah it would but the haters will diminish it and call Brook damaged goods. I still think he should do it so we can have a common opponent between Crawford and Spence
If Brooks face ever heals fully, he is right up there with crawford and Spence. I think he reached his peak though whilst Spence and Crawford only getting better. Thurman is clear 4th below those 3.
I don't really disagree with any of this and I was talking about Brook fighting off peak welters, not Bud. However, everything you say here is a matter of degrees and risk/reward analysis. You could be right, but Bud is a killer and Brook ain't who he was. I'd be rooting for Crawford of course, but I also admire Brook and wish him no permanent harm.
