So why earlier this year did he say this: “Of course it depends on the pay-per-view buys, but I would hope that a fight between Joshua and Wilder generates over £100m. I think it would generate more than Tyson against Lennox did. So Deontay, come to the party and we will double, triple, quadruple your pay days.” Source: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....-deal-eddie-hearn-matchroom-a8278021.html?amp Just lmfao at anyone who believes a word he says regarding this fight and the financials.
Hearn, Dibella, Finkle, Haymon. I know.... Let's question the guy who has actually brought us World Heavyweight unification fights where fighters are generating over $20 million. Hearn v Dibella/Finkle/Haymon Hearn is certainly winning.
Actually, we don't know how well this fight would do at all. Eddie can say that he hopes the fight would do 100m but since we don't have any data to go by it could do way less than that. A lot of factors go in with this fight, but one thing that we do know for certain is that Eddie's offers are 6x what Wilder currently makes and far above what Wilder can make elsewhere.
Rofl so you think a £60m difference is reasonable to “hope” for? These Hearn/Juicesha fans are hilarious. So blind that they can’t see Hearn is desperate to play down the revenue potential now to justify lowballing Wilder. I just proved that you can’t take a word he says seriously.
I would punch him in the face if: It's a free shot I don't get arrested, sued, or beaten up by one of Hearn's goons
Who can say for sure how much money this fight makes?? We can presume and guess that it makes 100 million or we can look at previous with facts and trends. And the trend is Joshua is selling big time and Wilder is selling small time. Does 40 million sound that ridiculous based on what Joshua and Wilder usually do?
Michael Benson is a very good journalist. He merely reports the news / what people say, and gives both sides to the story: This content is protected This content is protected
Naw man. Usually for a PPV fight you have data to go by from both fighters last bouts. Like with Golovkin-Canelo you could do an estimate for how well the fight would sell. For Wilder vs Joshua it is way different because we don't know how Joshua would actually do in a US market, Wilder isn't a draw at all meaning Joshua is carrying it, and the ppv market is way different for the UK than it is for America. This definitely won't tank regardless, but we may not be looking at a 100m fight here. We just don't know. There is no way TO know. Also they aren't really lowballing Wilder to begin with since Wilder doesn't make that much to begin with. They are paying him well above his market value.
If Hearn stop acting like he the man in boxing and partnership a deal in the US then I think that the fight will generate at least 100 mil and most likely a great deal more.
But he is 'the man' in boxing isn't he? Hearn is making Joshua 10x the money that 3 US promoters are making for Wilder.
Not by a long shot, and to be honest Joshua could get the paydays he is getting on his own. He just haven't realized that yet. He made himself not Hearn.
