Kell winked at Ricky in round 11, saying it was in bad taste. I don't think Kell meant it in a bad way, Ricky just overreacting and upset.

I don't get this Eddie Hearn love-in. All promoters are the same to me and i haven't seen a huge amount to make me think he's THAT different. People are jumping the gun a little too quickly in anointing him the saviour.

I'd love to see him beat Khan like a government mule.

 

It's just good to see a promoter actually put on interesting fights and take risks now and then, as opposed to treating the fans (and fighters) like **** and putting on crap shows.

If it lasts, great, if not, we'll call him a **** like we do everyone else.

 

Didnt see that was watching via sky-go on my laptop so had fairly **** quality. A bit dickish but its not like he'd just knocked matty out and done it.

Putting Barker in with Martinez after winning the european and Frochs homecoming fight being against Bute are good to see. Its also more a case of the fact that hes a new face so doesn't have tons of past transgressions that people hold on to. As Kieran Mulvaney said in his ESPN podcast recently people criticise Arum for every fight that doesn't get made but who celebrates him when he puts on a great fight (not defending him or Wazza just making a point).

That's a good point about Arum.

I wanted Pacquiao vs Marquez III from the moment the decision was announced after the 2nd fight, so when it came I was delighted, unlike many others.

The problem with ****** is that you can't help but have it in the back of your mind that he must know something. It's not often he puts one of his stars in a top fight and they lose (Khan vs Prescott aside). Usually when one of his lads loses it's a Jennings vs Cotto scenario.

Not many lose a prime vs prime matchup, simply because the opponent is better than them on the night.

 

any excuse for hatton to drag the attention back to him ,the guy is an attention seeker and is using mock outrage to facilitate it

 

Dont get me wrong I know they both care about their wallets rather than the sport but theres a double standard when a great fight gets put on no one celebrates the promoter (except for Hearn in his little honeymoon phase currently) but when a big one falls through its their fault.

Definitely and things like Burns' defences at sfw and the general WBO belt trend is really frustrating as it stops the better fights happening as I believe most of them would much rather be proving themselves at the top level.
