Re: Froch vs Ward postponement "The fans aren't happy, we're not happy and Showtime aren't happy," said Hearn, head of Matchroom Sport. "[Showtime VP of Sports Programming] Ken Hershman is very sympathetic to the fans, like us, and we're going to do something for the fans who lost out for that show. We don't know what it is yet, whether it's some kind of compensation on flights they couldn't change or some kind of free ticket offer for the next one on December 17. We worked so hard to get the Carl Froch fans over for that fight and we want them to come back, therefore we're going to do everything we can to make everything a little less painful for them." Seems like a genuine fight fan who actually gives a **** about the fans
His face in Barkers afterfight interview was sign of a man who invests his feelings into his fighters and promotions.
I like the bloke - having met him a few times now he's a good fella and is concerened with the well being of the sport. The whole outfit is incredibly professional- make the fighters, not them, the stars.
I like Eddie Hearn he is bringing a different dimension to the sport and is very open about the fans perspective and takes the views of the punters from the numerous social networking sites and Boxing Forums seriously...:good
If I were a pro boxer and had a choice of promoters, Id sign with Hearn no questions asked. I can see Matchroom going from strength to strength in the near future.
I was sceptical at first with his hype of Audley Harrison but he has really grown in my eyes. If he can keep up the work he has put in then he can and likely will become the top promoter in this country, and right now it looks like he will have a huge bearing on the future of Boxing on Sky. So no pressure Eddie :good
Eddie is a top promoter' loved how he has got froch the exposure on sky he needed' barker to world title' like a lion behind his cubs' loved the way he talked after the kell brook fight america Ect' 100% behind is fighters. :happy
