FACTS

    - WBA ORDER JOSHUA TO FIGHT ORTIZ after Wladimir Klitschko announced his retirement, ruling out a rematch with Joshua, who added the WBA to his IBF title with the stunning 11th-round stoppage at Wembley Stadium in April.

    The
IBF's mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev is already in line to challenge 'AJ', but the WBA's January resolution confirmed that Ortiz would face the Wembley winner.

A statement on wbaboxing.com read: "According to the resolution sent on January 11th, 2017, to both parties, it was reported that the winner of the Joshua-Klitschko fight, held on April 29th, 2017, had to face Ortiz after 120 days.'

As you can see Ortiz was priority. And this was after Eddie Hearn asked Ortiz to wait until after the klitschko fight to be given his title shot opportunity which he then didn't honor.

Ortiz begged Joshua to fullfill his mandatory. He only decided to take another route after getting extremely frustrated by the stalling and lies given to him by Joshua and Hearn. He even threatened with court opposition until the WBA whispered poison in his ear and advised him to drop his case.

"I congratulate the young man for courage but I'm next and that is that. Look, my team let that fight happen because the WBA and Eddie Hearn asked us for a favor and because Klitschko didn't want to fight me but I'm done being pushed back. It's my time and I want my WBA belt so yeah I'm calling Joshua out. If he likes he can just give up the belt but if not then October or November sounds good to me so it's your move boy. To be he best you have to fight the best," Ortiz had previously told *******.com.

Look, boxing is a sport not just a business and it's not fair to me if they allow Joshua to get special treatment because someone is dishing out money. My team convinced me to let the WBA move on with the resolution because of lawsuits that were coming at (WBA President) Mendoza so I agreed on the WBA terms so they told the world and me that I was next no matter what the IBF was asking. Remember, I was the interim champ. The only reason for not fighting Ustinov was they didn't want to drug test and that was in the bylaws of WBA so I was cleared by my attorneys. All I want is to be treated fair. I'm not asking for what's not mine
    ."

"I had to laugh buddy because after reading what you said it shows a lot about you and your pride to fight the best. In your own words you say you will get stripped of the WBA belt if you don't fight me, if the WBA enforces their rule - and those are your words," Ortiz told *******.com.

"So what's funny is why not just let them strip you of the IBF and come face me? You can say and trick the public all you like but I know the truth and maybe you really don't want to face me, maybe your promoters are pushing you another route and that's as far away from me as possible but at the end we both know we make the last call. I'd love to face you for belts and I mean belts.

"You say in your article it's over money. I think if you fight Pulev then you're the one looking for a payday and at the end the public will know this. Pulev will last about two rounds. I don't kid the American public. Sell that joke in the U.K. with your promoters. The ball is in your hands little buddy."

Oh please, if he fought Ortiz and Pulev missed out you would be on here crying and whining like a 6 year old that Joshua was ducking Pulev despite clearly fighting the best in the division. Classic Wilder fan. Let us know when your boys testicles drop, he becomes a man, and actually fights someone who isnt a peanut or a professional diver or signs on the dotted line.

My favourite Wilder fan quote of the month... 'Now Wilder will probably get some stick for his next opponent... but'... story of his career.

Since winning the IBF World Title from Martin in 2016 Anthony Joshua has had five fights. They were:

    1 - Breazeale - #3 ranked by the IBF
2 - Molina - a back-up option when unification for the WBA (Super) Belt fell through
3 - Wlad - unification for the WBA (Super) Belt
4 - Takam - a substitute when IBF mandatory Pulev pulled out injured and WBA mandatory Ortiz got suspended for drug abuse.
5 - Parker - unification for the WBO Belt

His next fight is against Povetkin, the WBA mandatory.

So, which mandatory has he "officially ducked"?

How does a bloke with 1 fight in almost 3 years, and that being against a fighter who isn’t in anyone’s top 100 heavyweights, get a shot at the WBC Heavyweight Title?

How does a fighter who’s officially ranked Nō1 by the WBC, who also holds the WBC Silver Championship and has complied with the WBC by fighting THEIR suggested eliminators get bypassed and not named the next Mandatory Challenger for the WBC Title?

Not a fanboy. It was a legitimate question. If your answer is Ortiz then it's bunk because Ortiz was already in negotiations with Wilder and had been since July, and he wanted Joshua stripped rather than having the mandatory enforced because he wanted to fight Wilder more.

It was all academic anyway when Ortiz got suspended for using banned substances. As you said: his mandatories failed drug tests. Explain how that is his fault

Aww isn't that cute, the worm couldn't find any more excuses the duck so resorts to making up baseless straw man arguments.

If AJ had fought Ortiz before or after klitschko when he was suppose to fight, I would've given him immense credit.

I was very disappointed when the Pulev fight was announced because he was no threat at all.

Same way when I was lead to believe that he was interested in fighting Wilder(which was a lie) I have him credit for taking the fight.

Sadly he showed himself and told the world that he wasn't ready for Wilder and he could only fight him if the fight took place in his backyard even if it meant turning down the highest record breaking HW purse in history.

How can I or anyone give credit or defend such a coward?

Even his friend and childhood idol, the legendary Lennox Lewis has come and more or less implied that he is ashamed of him.

I'm not going over it all over again just because you turned up to class late.

Read the God damn thread properly , go through the time line of events and you will find that Ortiz was mandated to fight Joshua before he got suspended for failing to disclose blood pressure medication.

Ortiz made appeals to Joshua, Hearn and the WBA in an attempt to have the fight made and they strung him along until they completely screwed his eye balls out.

Wilder felt compassion for his plight in seeing that Ortiz was being denied his mandatory right for a title shot, after Hearn had promised him knowing full well that he was banking on the money from that fight to support his chronically ill disabled Daughter, Wilder took it upon himself to step in and make sure Ortiz got paid.

That's how Ortiz eventually ended up in negotiations with Wilder.

No, if you haven't given Joshua credit already, you never will, you'll just whine whine whine like a little pig, because that's all Wilder fans can do. They have nothing positive to say about the opposition of their own fighter, or the fact that his circle fix fights, so they just whine whine whine about everyone else. Why do you pretend that Wilder doesn't have a contract sitting in his lap waiting to be signed? Oh yes... that's right, because you already know he never fights anyone. Deluded. It must be terribly embarrassing when the top 10 contenders fight more difficult and challenging opponents than a supposed champion. Let me know which tent Deontay is fighting in next, I sure will be interested to see which top 40-50 clown he is fighting next. My money is on Oscar 'Boom Broom' Rivas.... kings vs dings...

What a complete and utter lie.

"If AJ had fought Ortiz before or after klitschko when he was suppose to fight, I would've given him immense credit."

No boxing fan with even a slight bit of knowledge at HW would rather fight Klitschko than Ortiz.

No matter how you dress it up, Ortiz is the best name on Wilder's resume.

And Ortiz has one of the worst resume's in boxing history for a so called 'Threat' to a HW champions.....
    0 top 10 victories.
