Whenever promoters come up with these silly little hypothetical plans and road maps somebody always loses and the whole thing goes up in smoke.

I don’t think anyone is ducking Hrgovic, the only decent win he has is over zang yet some talk of him being some undefeatable monster. He is just the latest hype job until he gets some more wins over decent fighters. I’m surprised that some think that a win over useless de mori should put him in the picture for a title shot, he has not earned it at all.

Yeah. Hrgovic's plan since Zhang has clearly been not to risk his status as the IBF mandatory and only take stay busy fights. If he fights on March 8, I'm quite sure it will be against easy opp again.

And can't really say I blame him. As it is, he is likely to either face the winner of the Usyk-Fury fight or, more likely, Joshua. Either way it's a huge payday with more to come if he wins. So why rock the boat against someone like Parker who won't improve his position much and only pay a fraction of that?

I can see him accepting a fight against Wilder on March 8, since that will be a good risk/reward, but otherwise no one in the top 10.

People pooping on Hrgovic all the time, trying to make out he ain't about that life when he's been calling for the big names for ages, has been ducked by many, and his management team weren't doing the job they were supposed to be doing for him

Absolutely the vacant title should be on the line

I agree. If Hrgovic and Parker are fighting March 8, and the IBF has already stripped the winner of Fury-Usyk, Hrgovic-Parker should be for the vacant belt.

    No question.

If the IBF's #1 contender and #3 contender are fighting each other ... and the IBF's #2 contender, on the same card, is fighting a guy with no rating and no wins AT ALL, screw that guy.

There's no reason why it shouldn't if the title is free. Hrgovic whether he deserves it or not has been the mandatory since biblical times and J-Park is a perfectly credible opponent, as it stands now before the rankings have been updated or at least a couple of them, is ranked top 4 by three of the sanctioning orgs, #8 by the other and he just beat their #1 ranked guy so he's going to skyrocket right up their rankings too.

Not eve sure why AJ would have a problem with it as long as he's next up for the winner should he get past Ngannou as he would be fighting a reigning champ as opposed to fighting for the vacant belt.
