https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...rki-alalshikh-new-boxing-league-b2709626.html Souls have been sold over the past 3 years and the end may be near for many promoters and existing world boxing bodies. Turkey has bought boxing.
He has seen the writing on the wall. Warren will probably knock about for a bit longer, pick up last bit of scraps and then bow out too.
Not your fault mate, but it's complete bull****. This feed takes completely out of context quotes from interviews and makes sensationalised posts to get clicks. The feed deserves to be on most boxing fans' blocklist for posting such crap. It's taken from this section of Hearn's recent IFL interview. I'll leave you to decide whether it was fairly quoted.
lol. He hasn't confrmed anything. He's just saying what he has always said but everybody knows it's a load of bollocks. He will not be retiring any time in the near future that is for sure.
Yeah I did take it with a (very large) pinch of salt, if he said it was raining, I'd go to the window to check! Just wondered what other members reaction to this nonsense would be
I must have missed the part where Hearns junior dominated the landscape. Those words can only have been a paid for press release by matchroom.
The likes of Haney, Lopez, Garcia, Tank, Shakur Stevenson have all completely diluted the meaning of retirement anyway the amount of times they've all announced it then what a shock they're back the following year.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him retire / sell the majority of Matchroom within 2 years after AJ has fought Fury / Aj has retired, he keeps talking about getting the business floated, once that happens it won't be long before he sells it, especially as the AJ journey will be over, after AJ he hasn't really got any big stars left, in the UK anyway, and with this Turki and Dana thing, if it goes well over the next 2 years then that will definitely push Hearn to sell, he has said he wants to do other things and doesn't want to be an arum, and let's be honest, as good as Hearn is a promoter, if Turki and Dana are running the sport in 2 years with this league type thing, then there isn't much need for Hearn and Warren, all the big fighters will be under Turki and Dana, and yes Eddie could still promote domestic cards like Crocker Donaven etc, but can't see him wanting to do that whilst all the big fights happen under Turki and Dana, as Hearn wants to be at the top and always has been, i see him maybe having some sort of role with Turki and Dana similar to what he has now at Riyad season, where he is used at press conferences to help sell the show etc and bascially work for Riyad Season, can't see him being out of boxing completely, but if he can get 100's of £million to sell part of Matchroom soon before Turki and Dana take over, i see it happening.
Sold out for the Saudi coin a look at his stable shows how much he has let it fall to sh1t. He won’t care because of the money but he should be ashamed.
Let’s not forget it’s not all his. Obviously Barry’s still around so he’s got the controlling shares. When he goes, then I’d imagine his shares will be split between Eddie and his sister (is it Kate off the top of my head?). It’s been alluded to before that AJ has been given some shares too I think? As part of his deal with Matchroom. I also believe Bellew has too? Not sure about any other boxers?
i mean yeah i don't know all those details, but i just think there will be some sort of sale / stepping down in the next 1-3 years
His stable is shite now anyway who's he got when AJ retires(which won't be long now) Connor Benn? UK wise anyway I know he's still got Bivol but he couldn't draw flies to **** and doesn't appeal to the casual market.
