Another ridiculous comparison. How much money did the McConor fight make? How much money will the Vargas fight make?

The McConor fight was ridiculous and I didn’t like it myself but it can’t be compared to Vargas boxing for a world title because of the numbers involved.

 

Vargas cost me money against Dulorme so I speaking from a place of slight bias, nonetheless after his last two results I don’t want this guy to get a title shot again till he beats someone in the top 10. He hasn’t beaten any one decent since his loss to Bradley. At least fight a Berto or a Collazo before you are in the discussion for a title shot.

 

Thurman is his mandatory but who knows when Thurman will be ready to fight, he hasn't fought in 18 months and he wasn't the most active fighter before that.

Plus, whose to say it is a mandatory, could be a voluntary. WBC aren't exactly known for being rigid with mandating fights. Wilders had like one mandatory in about four years.

 

Do those goalposts not get heavy from all the moving you do.
