It's a massive HBO deal with a bunch of USA talent signed to Matchroom USA.

 

I think the writer of the forum headline should learn the difference between "historic" and "historical" (and woe betide him if he misuses "decimate", or uses "disinterested" where "uninterested" would be more appropriate.... and, yes, I know language evolves and being prescriptive in the face of the tide of common usage is pointless, but I regret the loss of nuance... to my mind, language becoming less capable of expressing small differences is a matter of regret).

Michael Benson copies 99% of 'his' stories off someone else. Chances are the someone else in this case knows a whole lot more than Benson does.

 

That's about the time he has to come to agreement for the Povetkin mandatory. Not sure how that would change boxing though.

Maybe a HBO deal. HBO have been playing 2nd fiddle to Showtime for a while in regards to boxing, maybe this signifies a big new reinvestment from HBO. That would change the landscape of boxing to some degree.

He's also just come back from Dubai according to his recent interview, maybe it's some deal for a big fight there.

 

Is this the “major American signing” that was supposed to happen a month ago, and before that was happening last November?

I like how he always says it will happen in “three weeks’ time”. Long enough for everyone to have forgotten about it when it never actually happens.
