So it's gone from him promoting it to been involved wwith it and your not exaggerating? Make your mind up Merx.
Wonder if Richard Schaefer will fall into this in any way, could see him having a role in the US side of things. I'm only going off comment Eddie has made in iFL interivews but he did talk to Schaefer often while he was at Goldenboy and has an affinity with him, and covering both sides of the Atlantic would be a big ask for him Alone to be honest.
http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/lat...st-erik-morales-marco-antonio-barrera-contest Promoted it then to 'involved' Article proving he was a silent partner. So basically he sat at the table while the real promoters sold the fight. You make yourself look very silly sometimes
Richard Schaefer uses Hearn like a little **** boy, Hearn has said loads of times how Schaefer has ignored his emails. Richard Schaefer isn't getting involved with small time people like Eddie Hearn.
Well he is very unlikely to be involved with anyone above 'small time' Eddie Hearn (who just filled the national stadium btw) level if he was to stay in boxing. Oscar has dumped him, Arum wouldnt touch him with a shitty stick and the other US promoters like LDB are hands on enough not to need him. If Schaefer does want to stay in boxing, I say if because he could move industry again as he did top join GBP, then I'd say working with the UK's current leading promoter, who has a decent stable of fighters a lot of whom are more than capable of fighting internationally not necessarily for titles but in good fights with US based fighters, would be a good option to get back in. I actually really dislike Schaefer, found him to be a smarmy sleezeball of a promoter, like a less likeable Don King, but he has the credentials to help Eddie get this up and running. I'd love it if Matchroom could pull this off, I think the awe factor of fighting across the pond contributes to our fighters poor showings when they are sent on the madatory challenges. The regular chance to go fight in the states train in US gyms with different sparring would be so beneficial for the likes of Callum Smith and Joshua, profile wise as well as skill.
Well done to Eddie Hearn for being able to sell an overhyped domestic fight to the deluded English football crowd, who love a beer and a big event. Eddie is small time, he's always the B side of any big promotion. His fighters make "life changing money" to go abroad and be whipping boys. He said Bellew made "insane money" to go and get sparked by Stevenson. Barker, one of his premier fighters was sold to Sturm because he was the highest bidder. If you think Oscar dumped Schaefer you're an idiot. Schaefer IS Golden Boy, without him De La Hoya won't be much more than what DiBella is now in a few years. Al Haymon, Schaefer and Ellerbe have already started sorting out a loop hole in Richard's non-compete (a contract worth $18m until 2018 - more than Hearn will make from UK boxing in 20 years). He's currently begging HBO for a decent purse to pimp out his #1 fighter to be the B side (again) in a Chavez Jr fight. Schaefer, was/is/will be the biggest promoter in boxing at the moment, Eddie Hearn has a small budget Sky contract and gift of the gab.
The US is completely ripe for a third superpower in promotion. Imagine how many disgruntled fighters would like to jump ship to Matchroom once they secure a major TV presence.
Cant believe how thick some of you twats are. Hearn will never get a tv deal in the states just like GB will never promote in the uk .....Hearn is small fry with lose change compared to the big boys stateside.
Just imagine if this comes up he'd be sending his american guys over here for the inevitable beating in a world title fight!
