Because some would feel Hearn is needlessly sabotaging the careers of several fighters as collateral in this spat. Obviously the Eubanks are a father/son team so the dynamic is different. Besides, Eubank SR has a bigger profile than Gallagher so it's easier for him to promote JR.

I suspect it's probably all a bit of game playing by Hearn but people are simply discussing the optics.

 

Has zero to offer him though. Eddie has promoted him from the start and can offer BJS, Jacobs, Andrade, Bicol, Ryder and GGG not to mention Canelo.

 

Exactly this. Gallaghers points made zero sense in his interview and ignored the fact there are no crowds kept talking about footballers not taking a pay cut when they have a TV deal worth billions and number one sport in the world.

Seems strange everyone can get out except for Joes fighters as the pay ain’t right. Their value is also decreasing by the day if they don’t fight which joe doesn’t seem to understand.


Claimed Buatsi would never have taken the offer Johnson got yet buatsi has a bigger profile and Joe has no idea how much he makes.

Hearn has no duty of care over anyone, he is a promoter not a manager. His job is to promote the fights sorted by his matchmaker and the fighters manager, who do have a duty of care.

Whilst Hearn is taking the "it's my ball and I'm going home" approach, he is within his rights to do so and promote any boxer he wants to / not promote who he doesn't want to. If the public gets fed up that's on him, so be it. But he owes no boxer anything, and certainly isn't failing anyone.

 

I feel sorry for the fighters Joe is not managing them well at the moment he’s fell out with Warren and now Hearn so how is he going to get his fighters out he needs to look in the mirror and ask himself why don’t the promoters want to work with me and why is he so disliked by the boxing community????

 

Eddie has never had kind words for Gallagher, it's always seemed like he's been a necessary evil for Matchroom. Seems like Eddie's realised he's not really worth the aggro, maybe he's trying to get Gallagher's fighters to realise this too?

 

Joe Gallagher comes across as entitled, having a chip on his shoulder & thoroughly dislike-able. I don’t blame Eddie.

I think he’s just trying to give Gallagher a reality check. Hearn has been trying to make fights and Gallagher has been turning them down. The man needs to look at his options realistically, Hennessy isn’t going to swoop in and start offering pre-pandemic contracts.

 

Maybe Joe could do the promotion himself. He has the wit and charm and could also get Tesco to sponsor the show.

 

I really don't think trainers should also be managers.

 

Well he hasnt got him fights against any of them except Ryder and is now refusing to put a Joe G fighter on any Bill's as he has fell out with him.
