Whats ridiculous about it? Its not a great offer but 18 million dollars and a rematch clause is a pretty good starting point, far from ridiculous. Unless your one of these idiots talking between 100 and 140 million. Your not one of those are you?
Since Eddie knows that a fight against Wilder is the biggest fight in British boxing, his words not mine, why then did he offer Wilder a ridiculous flat fee that is significantly lower than what Joseph Parker got against Joshua. Is that a sign of somebody that genuine is making a fight happen? The disingenuousness of you UK fans is mind boggling to me........and this is coming from someone that is a massive fan of both fighters. The evidence is there that one party (Joshua) is not being authentic, yet you guys argue against the obvious in your ridiculous attempt to display your patriotism.
The AJ / wilder fight can simmer a bit longer and generate more money Both will come through Breazeale and povetkin and gives Fury a chance to catch up
That 18 million was as a percentage of the total fight revenue..........Wilder vs Joshua is "massive" compared to that fight........Eddies words not mine. Say you are Wilder will you take such a ridiculous offer in a fight that is arguably the biggest in all of boxing. You need to get Joshua and Eddies shylong out your mouth, you're embarrassing yourself.
Its the biggest fight in Boxing but is it really much more lucrative than Joshuas last 6 fights? UK market maxed out already nobody will be jumping on board because Wilder is in town. American market? Nobody goes to his fights and not many people watch him for free in prime time slots are they guna bother to pay PPV and miss their teams in live sports that they actually prefer to Boxing? I cant see it. Financially this isnt much bigger than any other AJ fight, maybe a bit.
So I'm guessing you know more about the commercial potential of this fight better than Eddie. So, let me ask you, how many world championship fights have you promoted?
Eddie described the fight as "massive". He called the biggest fight in British boxing and all of boxing.
He does it for every fight on the undercard as well: 'Smethwick versuys Fishnitzel that's another cracking fight. He's got it all to do as Smethwick, he knows this is his big chance but you can't write Fishnitzel off. Massive fight that one'
And you are a complete moron who has no idea on the basis of business. Nor can you understand a basic Job specification that Hearn has to fulfill. "To make money, i must sell more tickets, PPV's, sponsorship deals, TV deals" "How do i do that?" "Hype everything up beyond any measure to make everyone want to buy it" Welcome to marketing.
Actually we don't know that. All the press was saying they settled for somewhere around 33% and got a minimum guarantee of £13 mill. But Hearn has stated recently he didn't get 33% and didn't get half of that, so we don't actually know what Parker got. Also the first offer from Hearn according to Higgins was so low he thought Hearns had been hacked and a fake offer sent to him as a joke. Did Higgins see that low offer then decide not to make a counter offer? Nope he actually negotiated and came back with a counter offer. Also this supposed flat fee while obviously a low ball offer is still double what Parker got so I wouldn't call it ridiculous at all.
They will only fight Wilder on terms that load the dough and everything else in their favour. They are even attempting to make it two fights with the same terms to stop Wilder dictating any rematch.
