Eddie Hearn will have to accept that Joshua v Wilder will only take place on SHOWTIME PPV

I expect bumsquad to announce he’s signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime on Tuesday. Weasel (Espinoza) probably went over to CBS (Showtime’s Parent Company) and asked them to open their pockets in the same way they did with Mayweather and matched the gurantee that DAZN offered for the Breazeale fight.

Then i presume Al Haymon has managed to persuade one of his dodgy investors to back $50M on a AJ-Wilder fight. Or Haymon managed to assemble a dodgy loan/credit facility to match DAZN’s offers for the AJ Fights.

And their you have it....Hearn’s been outplayed again. As Hearn has said Joshua is allowed to fight on another US platform for a one off undisputed
fight. Joshua v Wilder will have to take place on SHO PPV.

Either Hearn authorises it. Or the fight won’t happen. How do you guys think it will play out on Tuesday ? Joshua v Wilder is obviously preferable on DAZN for $10 rather than the $75 Showtime will be asking for. However AJ v Wilder is a event which dosen’t feel right on a sub standard niche app. It feels and should be a PPV Fight.

PPV is still the best option for a fight like this, vast majority of Americans haven’t heard of DAZN. And PPV allows you to make unlimited money. DAZN’ Gurantees are basically flat fees and are limited. Wilder could be making the correct decision to making sure this fight is on PPV.

It's up to AJ tbh not Eddie but yeh i agree with the premise of your thread. Alternative is to wait it out and hope Wilder loses to someone sooner rather than later (but that's not to say AJ aint losing in the meantime).

I think DAZN will be locking down Joshua to a long term contract after this fight. Miller fight just being used for both sides to guage how big an offer it should be. They wont be dictating anything to Joshua once the whole machine that surrounds him starts going in the US, all the companies that will be looking for a piece of him, hes only going to get bigger.

I think Wilder`s team are overating his position here.

I definitely think the potential for PPV revenue probably would be the deciding factor in why Wilder would balk at the Hearn/DAZN offer. 100 million is a lot of money to pass up, but if they crunch the numbers and think they can make more thru PPV, the decision becomes understandable.

Good luck with that but it won't happen.

There is not a chance with first and last DAZN will give up that fight.

Ya'll trying to make excuses for Wilder. This guy has declined every offer his had to fight AJ. He doesn't want that fight.

Wilder did 325k buys vs Fury. The PPV Buys a fight vs Breazeale would be shockingly low yet you you want us to believe AJ v Wilder is somehow going to do huge numbers on PPV. Sorry but I don't see it. It certainly won't be doing enough buys to see Wilder make $40 mil guaranteed and for AJ to earn minimum $40 mil but even more considering DAZN would pay him more.

You are banking on PPV and gate money to make sure the fight generates at least $100 mil.

Why take the risk when a network is prepared to guarantee the purse without the requirement of PPV Buys.

Stop trying to think of ways to justify Wilder's position. The reality is he just doesn't want to fight AJ. No amount of money will get him in the ring vs Joshua. Dude is shook.

Can't really see Showtime suddenly spending huge money. If DAZN were willing to pay $100 mill then Showtime would need to match that and then still pay Joshua, so you're looking at an investment of at least $200 million. Mayweather's guarantee for the Pac fight was $100 mill and Wilder and Joshua simply are not on that level. It's one thing to guarantee that kind of money to 2 fighters who have sold over 1 mill PPV's before, totally different to do so for Wilder who's had 1 PPV that was a moderate success and Joshua who's never fought on PPV in the US.

No need to rehash this one again. Look at each guy, look at their options if the fight doesn't go ahead. One of them is going to make a fortune with or without this fight. He's also younger and has a broader base of income to add to his home market strength. He can bank maybe 60m or more over the coming year just boxing Miller and a mandatory defence. Then tell that guy he instead has to sign on to the same promiotion that delivered those scorecards in LA and he has to give one belt Wilder 50 per cent for the privelege. Hopefully he'll just laugh at you.

I agree with most of your points but there is no way Wilder is scared to fight Joshua and vice versa. If he was then why would he even have met with DAZN and let it become so publicly known? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Once again it's the men in suits spoiling all this for us.

theres zero evidence to support joshua vs wilder ppv being able to sell the 1m+ needed to match the kind of money offered to wilder, none whats so ever. Nothing in either guys history or in the history of ppv(two non ppv stars selling that much? Never happened) and nothing in the declining state of the ppv model suggests that is realistic. The fact that showtime never gave wilder a ****ing deal speaks for itself, they dont believe it either. Wilders next fight wont be on ppv but theyre going to give him the Mayweather treatment? Deluded. And every year Wilder delays the fight PPV becomes more and more obsolete as illegal streaming becomes moreand more prominent. Wilder is doing whats best for Haymon not whats best for him and his legacy.

This pisses me off, I like both guys and it's an incredible fight. Haymon is playing Wilder for a fool, DAZN offered Wilder 33 million to fight Breazeale, and 66 million for 2 Joshua fights. He's clearly scarred of Joshua, and I feel like a dick for all the times I've shat on Joshua saying he's ducking the best

I do agree that the fight is two big for an app that people in the UK can't even get

I don't think Wilder is scared at all tbh

I do however think big Al has a lot of his Black fighters under a spell of sorts
It's like he runs a cult

I hate mentioning race at its not really where I like conversations to go
