Thought the ref did alright up until the confusion at the end. Eddie Hearn needs to hold his emotions in check a bit better though, because as has been said; he could've really ****ed things up for someone, running in like that, although I did think the ref had stopped the fight. If you watch Bute though he slides sideways as he tried to stand anyway, so he wasn't fit to continue. Great result for Froch. People might say Bute was overrated, but the records will always show that Froch took his '0' and smoked him in five.
Barry Hearn did the same thing when Steve Davis won his 1st world snooker crown. Don't be suprised that an appeal goes in from Bute's team for the DQ.
Everyone in the croud thought the ref waved it off. I didn't no there was a count until I read IB's thread
Indeed! He actually started to wave before he brought his hands down. Bad performance from the ref who was also breaking some exchanges for no reason. Anyway the right man won!!
I think bute's people know there man was soundly beating on the night so won't make a complaint.eddie hearn should calm down though, what a dick he was jumping in ring like that.plenty of people will be highlighting that over the next few days.
One thing I'd like to say about Froch's people coming into the ring before the fight was over with a possible disqualification....Nope. The referee's hand signals were clearly in the manner of waiving the fight off, beyond any dispute. He waived it off, with Froch running the opposite direction and Eddie Hearn coming into the ring, then the ref started to give a standing count, with Bute's camp in the ring telling the ref to stop the fight. If the ref wanted to give a standing count, he should have got between the fighters as if to break them as he normally would without waiving his hands in the air. The ref caused Froch's people to enter the ring with his signal that he had stopped the fight.
It was embarrassing. Thought his dad was as well kissing Froch on both cheeks while Carl's girlfriend waited behind him to do the same. I don't buy this 'great friend' thing either. How much would you rate a friendship that began when you were a world champion?
