Just think this ......seenu vs Warrington......Murray vs smith/fielding....Joshua vs teper....Campbell vs linares....crolla(if he wins) vs Mitchell....degale vs groves....Edwards vs that Patel dude....headlined by brook vs Khan....or brook vs thurman.......come on people that's a proper ppv card
Problem is it would likely take no more money than brook v khan khan with an average undercard and cost him a fortune more than he needs to spend. He has to spread the big fights out - degale v groves on its own is a PPV night as well Lot of people assuming Edwards will beat Norman who haven't a clue how good Norman is.
Why in the world would Eddie or any other promoter make that? You would make absolutely no money from it unless ticket price and PPV price are both £100 a piece and that isn't going to happen.
i was expecting at least one stadium PPV this year , after the froch v groves 2 card last year eddie kind of gave fans hope for the future , it has not materialized which is a damn shame , boxing politics has just ruined it for fans , seriously we should not have to wait 2-3-4-5 years to get mega cards and mega fights , the money these fighters and promoters are getting now for average fights is still obscene and its as if neither fighter or promoter really cares about what the public want anymore .
I think you will find the big fights happening next summer. Khan didn't get Floyd so he needs to get a payday from somewhere, Frampton signing with Haymon opens doors and Degale Groves could happen too. AJ is getting bigger and bigger so he will need better opponents soon if he continues to win and you could make a PPV out of all the lightweight talent in the UK too. Lets hope it happens.
This. In the mid nineties there used to be (genuinely) stacked PPV cards with both home and abroad legs but now it's all about how certain promoters can sell the concept of a card being PPV worthy.
Would cost a fortune but few of those fights are really show stoppers. Khan vs Brook with Joshua, Crolla etc in competitive fights would do similar numbers.
