Hey all, just wanted to keep you posted. As I am sure many of you are aware I have been writing this book on Eder Jofre but I also started a mission to get him inducted into the West Coast Boxing Hall of Fame and bring him over here. He won his title here at the Olympic and has great memories. Through anticipated sales (sort of an advance on what I might make) and the sale of merchandise (personalized signed photos, signed gloves, official shirts) and donations I have raised the necessary milestone to bring Eder, his son, daughter and her husband for 10 days. They’ll also be accompanied by Marcel‘s (his son) wife and daughter and a cousin. If you are around the LA area let me know because I will be hosting a few events where we watch his fights with them and he’ll pose for photos, sign items. Some of the plans include getting him a newly minted Ring belt and ceremony commemorating 60 years since he won their title vs. Porto Rollo in March of 1961 and of course the West Coast Boxing Hall of Fame banquet plus other meetings. Also we will fill something with him going back to the Olympic. Tremendous opportunity for fans to meet a genuine legend and a great moment for him to meet fans from a different part of the world where he had some of his greatest moments. This will be in March where I will host them for 10 days from March 11-21. Echo Park area. Also the plan is to do further fundraising, selling off items and bring him and his son, daughter and her husband to New York in June where he’ll visit Canastota for the first time since his 1992 induction. So for east coast fans that’s the plan and also we’ll be in NYC for around 3 days. I am beginning the mission for this in a few weeks but I can confirm that California is already reached.
