Just saw this rumored online they both faced off at the Basketball game at Madison Square Garden. It's another one of those fights where it is a well thought out opponent pick for Berlanga. Obviously a prime Jacobs would beat him. Jacobs is in his late 30's now and has been inactive.
I think Jacob’s even shot to hell can make berlanga look like a crude fool. Jacob’s boxing skill miles above plus we’ve seen with berlanga if you can counter him he will soon become gun shy and hesitant.
Berlanga is absolutely the lowest tier of all of the "hyped" prospects that are being talked about. There really is nothing even positive that I can say about him and that's rare, I can usually point out something about even guys that I don't like that I can "they at least have this or that attribute". I can't name one thing about him. He's faltered with the training wheels on, once they come off, he's gonna be in Hell. That being said, Danny hasn't really looked good since like 2019 and this is 5 years later. Everything is relative but this would be a fight I can actually see him turning the clock back. I'd be hesitant to bet on someone that's 38 years old though. This is still (kinda) a young man's game
If he does I guarantee IsaL will be on here praising it as a great fight and a tougher test than Benavidez lol.
I think Jacobs could win this, but his age and inactivity are pretty big negatives against him. Berlanga on the other hand has almost no positives except age.
