With the retirement of Crawford, Resendiz the WBA Interim champion is promoted WBA world champion and will make his first defense against Berlanga the 21th February 2026 on the undercard of Barrios vs Ryan Garcia :

    This will be a intriguing fight, the last chance for Berlanga ? He can thank his promoter Keith Connolly for securing him a world championship after his tough knockout loss to Hamzah Sheeraz.
