    Round 7

Sosa is forcing Uicab to engage with him toe to toe, stepping forward and ignoring the darting-in body shots and just slamming down with his right hand up top. Wide left hooks from outside by Sosa, just not giving a damn. Uicab lands a nice combo from a crouch-back, left and right to the chin before recoiling. Sosa just keeps coming. BIG HEAVY SHOTS!! UICAB ON THE ROPES!! BIG UPPERCUT BY SOSA!! DIGS TO THE RIBS! Uicab jumps up at him with a left hook and then darts backward after missing. Sosa plugs a right to the body. More clubbing shots by Sosa. Flurry to the body by Uicab, flashing his quick hands. Quickness isn't what's winning the day here, though. It's GRIT, and Sosa's got it.

    10-9 Sosa

    66-64 Uicab

    Round 8

Uicab is darting around, moving well. Sosa just keeps giving him the Terminator treatment. Uicab tries to flap in with some quick shots, but Sosa checks them on his forearm and bashes him with a hard left jab. Uicab keeps dancing all around the ring, staying on the outside. This is getting a Segura vs. Calderon feel to it now. CLUBBING right hand rabbit shot by Sosa, and down goes Uicab. Nady rules it a foul. Uicab runs and survives.

    10-9 Sosa

    75-74 Uicab

    5-3 Sosa

This is reminding me of Hagler-Leonard. Uicab is using the entire ring while Sosa is stalking him. I think Uicab was hurt worse than we think with that KD, Uicab doesn't seem to be attacking Sosa the same way he was earlier.

Open scoring just announced again. (isn't it usually after eight, not nine? :huh)

Anyway, at least one score was for Sosa. The crowd feigned mock indignant shock, but it was half hearted.

    Round 9

Uicab steps around to his left and jabs with Sosa. Uicab keeps moving - into the path of a straight right hand! Sosa is gunning hard now. Uicab keeps moving, holding his left outstretched to make sure he's keeping full distance. Sosa patiently walks him down, a cat with a rodent in a small room with no escapey holes. Overhand right by Sosa blocked. Left hook to the body caught on the arms. Sosa isn't discouraged by the missed opportunities, just marching on and trying again. Uicab uses the whole ring, bouncing off the ropes and stalling. Sosa keeps catching up to him and landing hooks to the body. Finally Uicab swallows his pride and ties up. Break. Jabs by Sosa, hitting guard. Uicab circles right, lands a jab, back to the left - constant movement. Sosa jabs him to the ropes. Flurry by Uicab. BIG overhand right by Sosa.

    10-9 Sosa

    84-84

    6-3 Sosa.

Much of the same, Sosa stalking while Uicab using his feet to dart in and out. Uicab not committing to his punches like earlier.

    Scoring crossroads:

If Sosa can keep up his momentum through the championship rounds, he'll win on my card. If Uicab somehow makes a huge turnaround and takes both, he salvages this (without any home tamale cooking)

    7-3 Sosa.

Sosa is methodically breaking down Uicab. Uicab is even pulling some Hopkins-esque moves of going down to get a breather.

    Round 10

Sosa is marching forward and landing hooks. Uicab runs, angles off the corners, jabs his way in and holds. Quick exchanges, with Uicab landing more but Sosa landing the heavier and more telling blows. Sosa is cut by the cheek but looking the more confident man.

    10-9 Sosa

    94-93 Sosa

I thought Sosa won the 3rd and 5th. Sosa has swept the 7th-10th. I think Sosa is clearly winning the fight.

    8-3 Sosa.

It is probably closer because some of the rounds could have gone to Uicab and it is in his hometown. Anyways Uicab needs a KO to win on my scorecard.

    Round 11

Huge effort by Sosa, going for the finish! Uicab is slapping him with flush hooks to the kisser as Sosa leaves himself open, barging in and cranking uppercuts to the body along with hooks and overhands to the head! Sosa's definitely bleeding from perhaps multiple lesions on the face, but he has Uicab in full retreat!

    10-9 Sosa

    104-102 Sosa
