Yea I left for a few weeks after Pavlik. Sure, I was heartbroken. I didnt see that coming. But I was back right after and never left again. I was on here the day after Abraham and gave his fans/him the congrats that was well deserved. At 168lbs I think Miranda would be Kelly. I dont think he would ever beat Abraham.
My point is that in boxing, there are no 'books'. As long as the fighter passes the bull**** exam they do at weigh in, they are allowed to fight. If Pavlik had a hurt elbow and was sick and wants to keep it quiet, there is no way to find out. It is not like these fighters need to get checked by doctors throughout training and have a full exam.
Well at least you're honest. I still think you've got a hidden Anti- Pavlik agenda going, even though he does not deserve it. Sure, he's technically not as sound as elite fighters, but that does not make him a lesser man. I will support Pavlik all day, he brings it. Next time Miranda lose, I would love for you to stay.. there's more to boxing than one man.:good
Okay --- I get ya, but somehow they made it look like the antibiotic injections were for Luevano, and Arum could not figure out why Luevano needed them. That's how Arum found out about Pavlik's real condition.
I respect your support for Pavlik. Just as I do for Miranda. You are a real fan and that it what this sport needs. I have been a huge fan of boxing since I was a kid. Miranda inspired me for some reason and I had becomes a huge fan since his debut in America. I also have been fortunate to meet him many times and he is truely a good person. I decided to show my support and joined these boards and let other people know of this fighter. He soon made a name for himself. I watch boxing whenever it is on TV. Even try to catch many streams online. I dont talk much of other fighters on here. I just dont follow any other particular fighter like Pantera. So when he is quiet and not much going on with his career, I tend not to log on much. I also have an inside scoop on him, so I like to post to news to people who may care....
While i did not always agree with Pantera2000 he was there the very next day n gave nothing but props to Abraham. Heck even when he thought Edison would win the rematch he was very gracious for Abraham to giving the rematch n having the guts to go to the US for it. So can only commend him for that really. And while Edison did have the nutrionist excuses it was nothing on the level of the Pavlik camp bs.... If you would believe them Kelly fought while being on chemo therapy vs Hopkins.
Hell, I respect that a lot. I watch all the noticeable fights over the weekends even though they're usually on at 4-5 in the morning over here, a lot of times I have to stream the fights over the internet to watch it. I also respect your love for Miranda, I had harsh times when Brewster fought Liakhovich and Klitschko so I should know. :-(
I guess I just don't have it in me to work up a bunch of hate for a guy just because he talks a lot of trash and then loses. If that was the case, there would be very few fighters you could like. Heck, even Pavlik and his camp talked about how they would stop Hopkins in their fight. He got dominated and then the excuses started flowing; bad elbow, sickness, etc. I don't hate Pavlik for that. It's just part of boxing.
That's what I am saying. It happens all the time. No doubt Miranda like to hype up the fight more than most and uses the media well to do that. Sure he rightfully had a bunch to say after Abraham I. He feels he was far from his best against Pavlik and let it be known. But after this past fight he kept very quiet. He didnt shout out excuses with press releases. He was interviewed and answered the questions. Why did you lose? He is gonna tell you why he thinks he lost. In this case he feels his diet didnt give him the strength he needed in the ring. So he is obviously gonna do something different next time he fights a top fighter and hopefully we see a better result.
Actually they never said anything about chemo, and your hyperbole just shows how little you know about athletic competiton. What Team Pavlik and Top rank said was that they should have post poned the fight, rather than let Kelly go in with a well documented injury, and a thoroughly documented illness. Several discussions were held, but Kelly would not even consider post poning the fight. Pavlik had a fever over 101 degrees the day before the fight. That's on record. When Abraham had a fever he took to his sick bed and posed for pictures. One guy is a warrior. The other is a pretender.
Edison seemed to be in a similar situation before the Pavlik fight. They both thought their illness would not effect them enough in the ring to hurt their chances. I dont see Pavlik beating Hopkins at that weight no matter what his condition. At 160lbs I dont see Miranda ever beating Pavlik. So their excuses are just that to most people. Miranda got ill before his Nov 11th fight and pulled out. He was quoted as saying his career would be over if he lost to that guy and was not going to take any chances. I guess you learn the hard way.
I do not think Kelly at 170 would ever beat the version of BHop that showed up on Oct 18th. I never imagined that Hops had that much gas left in the tank. I do think that if Kelly was 100% it would have been a good, possibly great fight. In that scenario I'd look for a Hopkins UD with scores averaging around 116 -112. Where Miranda is concerned I'd really like to see him work on his defense, and refine is offense. He's strong and has great power, but he's sloppy as hell. I'd also like to see him take on Zuniga. I've been itching for that fight for a long time. I think right now it would make sense.
Bull****...if you've fever you shouldn't fight. To fight with fever is stupid. It has nothing to do with being a warrior. If you work as a nurse you should know that. Boo, I hope we will see the fight Pav vs. AA happen and after that we can tell who is the real deal ;-) @Pantera2000: Respect for your honesty, dude. If there wouldn't be any biased fans the forums would be quite boring.
