Lopez ducked Pelenchin at Super Bantamweight. Caballero is a real man. He won both his Super Bantam Belts away from home on hostile turf in Canada and Thailand. Lopez is a protected and sheltered fighter. He's now cherry picking an old, smaller Marquez who has been through too many wars. Lopez aint ****. Gamboa aint man enough either. Pelenchin will reign supreme at feathweight if anyone is man enough to fight him. End of rant.
There is nothing that I see in Cabalero that gives me the impression that he has what it takes to beat JuanMa. The guy is just tall. He wants a pay-day but the only way he can get one is against Lopez or Gamboa. I will be glad when he is exposed. Seriously, watch film on this guy and tell me what some people are seeing that I'm not.
If Caballero is "Nothing Special" as you are alluding to, then why didn't Lopez fight him? Why didn't he fight him at Super Bantamweight when Caba was calling him out?? I mean if he is nothing special, why didn't Lopez fight him in a unification bout?? I mean that is another 2 belts in the bag for Lopez right??? You are delusional mate. Pelenchin is a merciless body puncher. His volume punching is enough to trouble the best at featherweight including John and Gamboa. Lopez doesn't want none of Pelenchin.
He punches a lot which would be his downfall. He can be timed and KOed. That Lopez right hook is a monster shot and Cabalero would wake up wondering what happened. I think Arum believes in Cabalero more than Lopez does. For some reason the fight didn't happen, but if it did, I would be willing to bet that Lopez KOs this guy.
I agree but people have felt in love with his tough man talk and are overrating him. What has caballero done to be label as the king of any weight division. Here is a guy who's best two wins are steve molitor and ponce deleon and got Koed by jose rojas but somehow has talked himself and convinced everybody else into believing that his a p4p boxer and at the top of two divisions. You guys are too easy to convince but all celestino is doing is trying to talk his way into a payday. :hat
Lopez has a suspect chin and will get iced by both Gamboa and Caba. Arum knew the dangers of matching Lopez with Caba. He is a smart promoter and wisely ducked Caba.
Yeah mate I agree. Caba is nothing but a trash talker. He had 2 belts are Super Bantam and called out Lopez. If Caba was "All Talk" why didn't Lopez man up and take his 2 belts??? Funny game isn't it???
He was down for the first time in his career last night and now his chin is suspect? He got up to finish his opponent in the next round. When Caba gets smashed out, then you will understand that styles make fights and his sloppy overactive style is not a good match for a power-puncher who times his opponents.
Yeah mate. And you fail to realise Jeff Mayweather is working with Caba and improving his style so he can use his physical attributes to his advantage. Don't get your hopes up. Arum won't let his precious boy fight Caba anyway.
I favor Lopez in that fight. But it's much anticipated and not at all written in stone for me. The guy that looked like he'd upset Guerrero did make Cab look bored stiff.
Here's a glimpse of Caballero in the Molitor fight. SOURCE: Steve Molitor vs. Celestino Caballero Fight
i'm kind of in agreement with those who feel caballero is overrated. not saying he doesn't have serious power and aggression but what has he done to warrant the praise and the p4p placement? as puertorricane pointed out, its probably a lot to do with his trash talk. ring magazine put him into the top 10 p4p for a time after the molitor fight, and yet molitor himself was never in the top 10 (and should never have been anywhere close to it). he's a very good fighter who no one wants to fight but that doesn't mean he's the best in a stacked division: just means he's a dangerous, low reward fighter who people will pass by
Caballero was the best at Super Bantam when he was in that division. He isn't the best at Featherweight. I agree. He still has to prove himself and a win over Yordan isn't enough for him to claim supremacy in the FW division. How can anyone argue against the fact Lopez blatantly ducked him? Caba wanted the fight. If Caba is soo damn overrated why are the top guys not chomping at the bit to clean him up???
cause he is dangerous but offers no reward. i'd favour lopez and gamboa over him but that doesn't mean he isn't a dark horse and have a legit shot. it really did seem like lopez was side stepping him but lopez and arum had clear, long term plans for mega fights with gamboa and marquez/vasquez. fighting caba could ruin those and i can't blame them too much as those are bigger fights with more established fighters at the elite level
Yeah you bring some good points lad. I find it silly though for posters to claim Caba is overrated when he has been trying to fight the other Champions for years now with no avail.
