Tell me a bit about him :good and is it true that he invented the jab, or was the first to properly implement it?
Everything I've heard suggested that he was astonishing accurate in placing his punches. He was also very efficient and his ring iq was off the charts. I wish I could be more helpful but that's abut all I know for sure.
He was an astonishing fighter who had literally everything -everything mind- that a fighter would want and looks like a modern fighter on film. Whether he was the first fighter to implement the jab properly or not is hugely debatable and controversial. You can hear from some people that they were using the jab properly 20 years before Gans. Others will tell you that he looks primitive and doesn't use the punch properly. Senya is the man to ask for a detailed breakdown of this fighter if you don't find the footage illuminating.
I'm gonna spend tonight after I watch Haye-Chisora of course, watching some Joe Gans fights. Are there any in particular you would recommend to watch?
I know you're getting something wrong but I don't know what... Also, Gans may hold the record for consecutive lightweight title defenses. EDIT: I see your mistake. You wrote tabacco instead of tobacco. Otherwise everything checks out. Thine post (proper usage!) is factually accurate.
