Tyson in his prime, Holyfield in his prime, Tua (never been knockdown in the pros if you want to count an off balance knockdown after the 12th round vs Rahman), De la hoya in his prime, Ali, Duran, Chavez in his prime, Morales in his prime, Hagler in his prime, Foreman. ^^^The ones i mention had/has the best chins.
Not sure how the amount of fights automatically means great chin. He gets hit but majority of those are not solid shots - rolling, grazing, off balance, etc. And second he DOES NOT get hit a lot. That is part of the PBF legend. Look at his stats. I am not saying he has a bad chin OR a good chin. He has not been tested enough (aka eat a bomb or two from a combo) to qualify either. Chin and defense are two different things.
he wasn't hurt by Hopkins or Jones. Badly hurt from Mitchell?!Are you joking? He got up and managed to knock Mitchell down 10 seconds later. That sad, he was never hit enough to rate his chin among the best ever. But sure not an average one.
Look at my comment on that video from 5 days ago and you will no what I feel about it. You will also find some granite chins.
Wayne McCullough. Period. Took everything Morales and Hamed could throw and smiled! Took some savage beating and never even went down. His defence was his chin!
The legendary 'Ironman' Joe Grimm, was no more than a middleweight, but was only stopped once in his "prime", otherwise he was held to high regard as the man nobody could knock out. Fitzsimmons, Blackburn, Johnson, Burns, Norfolk, and many others tried, but none could do it. He'd get knocked down several times, but never was kayoed. Only Sam McVey managed to do it. In my life time, however, watch Holmes/Cobb....
Ken Norton wrote in his autobiography that Cobb was "one crazy white boy" and that it seemed like he almost liked to get hit. Cobb was a character. Awesome chin.
Bad list, how on earth can you have 4 HWs & DLH ? :huh Surely guys like Chavez, Hagler, McCullough, Morales or Toney are more deserving than DLH, no ?
